He has gone through different versions of religion faster than I can run 5km. And I'm not that slow.

He was under investigation for sexual assault while he was a "black magic" practitioner. Hardly one of the cornerstones of fundamental Islam, no?
All photos of him, from all points in time, he appears to be wearing clothing worn by muslims (yes I know a lot of muslims wear normal clothes; he has been wearing robes etc which make him stand out as being muslim). He's also stated, many times over a long period of time, that is is a muslim cleric. He does not seem to have gone through any variations of religion other than varying degrees of Islamic extremism and a declining grip on reality.

So his advertising as being a black sorcerer in the court records are false?

He ran this "clinic" where the sexual assaults took place from 2000-2002. That is a long time ago. He identified as a muslim before that, he identified as a muslim cleric consistently after that, he was convicted of sending offensive letters to the families of deceased Australian soldiers, he has appeared consistently in Islamic dress for over a decade and finally this week he took a number of hostages, forced them to make a speech infront of a black Islamic flag, then requested a black IS flag.

But maybe he was actually a Jehova's Witness?

Feature on the local news here in Aus last night where they asked why a sniper diddnt take him out.

Several reasons:

1) The TV footage of the "clear shot" came from a camera inside a TV studio that happened to be on the other side of the street. To take the shot, the sniper would have to be in the TV studio. Because it's a TV studio it has very tough glass which, is also not at 90 degrees to the sniper's position. Shooting through that would have an unknown effect on the bullet's trajectory.
2) The guy was carrying a backpack which the police had seen wires hanging from - They feared he would also have some kind of dead-man switch.

Seems pretty sensible to me.

Indeed - it's good to see a prominent person of the community speaking in such a way -

“Anyone who does harm to Australians, we don’t want him,” he said.

“This is not a human, this is an animal. He killed innocent people … even if you paid us $3 million we would not do his funeral.”

Sure, but their holy book literally says it's ok to kill non believers. disbelief is worse than killing. Despite what our muslim friends say, the Quran is a murder death kill book of horrors and anyone who says it isn't simply hasn't read it.

Yes totally agree but why are there just so many do gooders who want to protect these people? Most of whom have no intention of integrating into whatever western world country they get into.

And yet millions of them go about their lives without murder death killing anyone on a daily basis, which suggests your interpretation of their book is a little bit fundamentalist.
