As a Jewish New Yorker I find your username offensive, but I don't get all superior about it.

Sony have played this so badly it's sickening.

As a penalty I hope NK release everything they've got anyway.
It could be seen that way, however I think they have now had a ton of free marketing for when they do actually release it.

Exactly. Sony are not "kowtowing to terrorists", they're milking the opportunity presented to them for all the publicity it's worth.

It could be the greatest marketing campaign of all time. Now everyone will want to watch it.
bit like trying to ban 'never mind the bks' a while back.

considering the previous leader of NK invented the internet and played a round of golf in 18 shots despite never having played before, i doubt they would have missed such an opportunity as this to swagger around.

this has ex employee all over it to me, if not sony themselves as you mention.

i thought capitulate at first, but kowtow being offensive (allegedly) means it's a more daring thread smile

I don't. I fully expect it was total crap anyway.

There's a nasty nip on the slippery slope when the Shylocks who run Hollywood studios welsh on their Spanish practices and engage all sixteen reverse gears on their Italian-designed tanks.

I expect what pork911 is alluding to is the ritual humiliation of Injo, the 16th King of the Josean empire at Samjeondo by Hong Taiji, Second Emperor of the Qing Dynasty following the Second Manchu invasion of Korea in 1636.
Probably, but he has the context completely wrong. Picked the first google entry and misinterpreted it. Buffoon.

I take offence at your use of the word 'spade'.
Where do I collect my compensation cheque?

What stage is the movie at? Is it finished?

I understand Sony pulled it due to threats to cinemas; if they now go ahead and release it, and a cinema is bombed, they will be to 'blame' - in the eyes of litigious compensation lawyers.

It's dog eat dog.

very good, on a serious note though who is talking about reprisals or bomb attacks on cinemas? NK hasn't got a worldwide Jihad thing going on, in fact all it has going on is in NK.....and that ain't much

It is ready for release.

it will be interesting to see the end game here. What about the DVD release? Is NK, sorry their legions of sympathisers and supporters throughout the World, going to threaten more terrorist acts? This time against Blockbuster and Tesco?

Where will it end? Will my World be torn asunder but cowards behind screens should I seek out a copy one day?
