He cant because he doesn't know what he is offended by, i think he may have tried to play the race card without looking at his hand?
Hopefully he'll enlighten us all given time.

Where can we see the actual press release from North Korea directly addressing this?

No where. It started off as a "hack" for money, Sony didn't pay so stuff was realeased. The USA got involved (why!) and all of a sudden it's the North Koreans fault. The original hackers have played on this just to create chaos.
I also guess that Sony have cancelled the film as this will probably allow them to claim alot of the cost on insurance rather than relase a crap film and make a loss.
Still it's much more news worthy if "Kin Jon Fat" is behind it wink

Are The Democratic republic of North Korea (all kowtow) paying foreign hackers to do this, or are they actually part of the state/military like the Chinese hackers?

So in conclusion

Kim jong whatshisface maybe behind the hack
Sony are filling their boots on the free advertising.
Pork911 is tell porkies in an attempt to get some sort of daily mail internship
and the movie is probably not worth the fuss.

There will be the usual in a gravelly deep voice

"In a world where one leader dares to....."

I saw this on the news this morning, and one twitterer on the subject said: "all this has done is ensure the film will be seen by many more than otherwise would have done".

I think this is very true. I hadn't heard of the film, or knew Sony were making it, but now I want to watch it.

Some say Sony have bowed to the hackers, I think they have played a blinder, when this gets released on Blu-Ray it will be huge.
Apparenly not. They have pulled the film completely and have confirmed there are no further release plans, including on DVD or VOD.

Don't wait too long, the other day he was saying he used to have a grab bag with fake passports, fake driving licence,a knife, a handgun and keys to a spare car and spare motorbike just in case it all went tits up, I think he might be either a bit Walter Mitty or just a bit mental??????

Or he could be James Bond and know something we don't, but would such a cool person really be on an internet forum with us geeks???

Lame troll is lame.
It is hardly the first time. More fool the rest of us for rising to it.

Incidentally a friend has a South Korean wife and she doesn't find the word Kowtow offensive confused

Any danger of you telling us why kowtow is particularly offensive to Koreans then?

i've no idea why anyone with a strong opinion that its not at all off to use this phrase in relation to Korea would need enlightening otherwise why would they express that opinion?

unless they were merely saying 'i know nothing at all about this so it must be fine'

To be honest, I'd be more interested in why someone who clearly has sand in his vagina about the use of the term, has got so offended by it. As frankly, we are all a bit bemused.

As the OP, may I thank you for royally screwing-up my thread, well played. 5 pages of whinging about your stupid comment, 3rd one in too.

Kowtow is a word that has been used in the English language for many years, I think most normal people understand what it means.

If you would like to learn English as a 2nd language, may I suggest some very good schools?

Ok everyone has been very patient with you to be fair, either explain why you find the phrase offensive when used in relation to Korea or just admit you messed up.

We all mess up sometimes, it's not the end of the world...
