VIP paedophile ring allegations: woman waives anonymity to accuse politician

article said:
A woman has waived her right to lifelong anonymity to allege that a well-known politician was part of a VIP paedophile ring that sexually abused children in the Staffordshire countryside in the 1980s and 90s.

Esther Baker, 32, said the politician was in a group whose influential members routinely abused young girls in Cannock Chase as uniformed police officers stood guard.
article said:
Baker told the Guardian she was first abused by the politician when she was around six years old. Working with police, she has established that the abuse continued until she was at least 11.

Detectives have been told that the politician, who is still alive and of the current political era, would make her sit on his knee while she played the piano and on other occasions sexually abused her on Cannock Chase fields. He cannot be named for legal reasons.

She says she believes a lord and a judge were also involved because their titles would be mentioned while the attacks were taking place. “I was brought up in a religious household and ... I thought they were on God’s authority,” she said.

“I knew they were important but I always thought they were more important in the church. That’s what I related it to at the time. But I knew there were ones that were more special than others.”

A small group of police officers, some uniformed, stood guard while the abuse was taking place, she said, and other times they would join in. One of the officers she recognised from church.

On one occasion Baker tried to flee the abuse but was chased and caught by one of the officers standing guard. He told her he was sorry, she said, but still took her back to where the attacks were taking place.

She now believes the officers could hold vital information about the abuse meted out to children in Cannock Chase.

Bloody hell! That is, quite literally, my back yard. Sadly, as attested by the binfulls of litter I harvest annually, AONBs can be used for foul means as well as fair.

If what she says proves to have any substance, this is a significant development.

Is the pale blue car behind the maroon Rover 213/216 a Metro? The gold car on the left with just the rear showing is a Nissan Sunny or a Cherry?

Did you pickup on this sentence;

'She has been talking to Exaro since January, initially raising worries about some people who represent themselves as speaking on behalf of abuse survivors.'

Interesting, to say the least.

I hadn't.

Given the other stuff that's gone on those 'worries' could be well founded.

I'm really not sure what to think. Hopefully as the police will be spending a further two days interviewing her it's legit.

I can see some Volvo 340 as you've mentioned it. I thought they all had the reversing light segment higher up on the lenses so they had an edge on the upper edge of the lens. The reversing light lens seems to be in the middle like on the facelifted E30s and early E24 rear light clusters.

The white two tone Montego says 'rental' to me, but I suppose some people or employers may have bought them in that spec.

In so many of these interviews, even with former police officers investigations are stopped higher up the ladder.

I can only think of three departments, DPP, MI5 or the HO minister at the time.

All three names are in the public domain.

Send an investigative journalist to their house and or office?

Oh, I forgot, we no longer have investigative journalists, best get back to watching Simon Cowel.

The reversing light lenses don't look to be in the correct place for an Escort. And the lower edge of the tailgate is straight, the numberplate surround or lower edge of the tailgate has some trim above the numberplate. It doesn't look like an Escort to me.

I can't see an Accord. Mazda 323 crossed my mind too. The reversing light lenses don't look correct for an early 440. They look correct for the later facelifted ones. Being an anorak today I've learnt of Volvo 440 Estates.

I'm being racist or stereotypical thinking it looks like the shade of metallic gold that a Japanese car would have?

I've started thinking MK2 Cavalier Hatch, these were still the days when most people bought British.

Similar colour.

That OSR door on that Cavalier looks a bit odd.

It's not the Nissan I was thinking of. The fussy trim above the rear number plate is similar, but the reversing light lenses are incorrect:
