This sort of situation boiled over in Sydney about 8 years ago.

Leading up to it we'd had many incidents you're experiencing in the UK, organised gang rapes, attacks and intolarance (not from the Aussies at that point mind you, that came later).

Then an incident occurred that light the match on the powder keg.

At Cronulla Beach a group of muslim guys starting harassing the girls in bikini's. What you have to understand is the Muslim Community is based inland a bit, away from the coast. The Coastal Suburbs are very WASPish so these lads come to the beaches in car loads. =Anyhow this harrasment had been going on regularly for about 3 months with police involved on and off but on this day two lifesavers called them up on it. The muslim guys took offence, hung around and beat up the two lifesavers when their shift finished.

In Australia volunteer lifeguards are held in high regard so it was just too much for most locals. They went crazy and started targeting any brown skinned person or their shops.

It escalated rapidly from there. Just google Cronulla Riots.

Both my brothers were caught up in it, they both lived at Maroubra Beach at that time and that also received it's fair share of trouble. They were worried because car loads of muslim guys (mainly Lebanese in Australia) were cruising around looking for soft targets. There were many bashings and stabbings over a three week period. Plus many innocent people were targeted by both sides.

Then the police just pumped loads of resources and manpower into the effected areas and it all died down.

It's been calm for many years now, there's still a heavier police presences at many of the beaches impacted (even now) and the Lebanese/Muslim communities have made the area around Brighton-Le-Sands their hang out, leaving many of the other beaches alone.

Again, there were many videos and pictures, just google it.

The wiki page for the riots followed through to the full story of the 2000 sydney gang rapes.

My god, now i see where some of the aussie hate comes from. Sort of sounds like something that happened in England, but people glossed over.

I'm well aware of the problems caused by Lebanese immigrants in Oz.

What I always fail to understand is why (also in the case of the UK) these people want to live in a country with different cultural values to theirs and thus they want to change everything around to their way.

If they don't agree with the cultural norms of the country they emigrate to, why don't they just Foxtrot Oscar to a country which is more amenable to their cultural beliefs?

Like Lebanon, for example.

Or Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia etc etc...

They like the trappings of the West.

They like freedom, wealth, healthcare, education and welfare. They also get to feel entitled and special as Muslims amongst a load of infidels. Only trouble is those benefits of living in the West will disappear if their numbers continue to rise.
