Made topical once again by dreadful events in France.

At the end of that process, some Global Warming deniers would never admit their mistake and as a result they would be executed. Perhaps that would be the only way to stop the rest of them. The death penalty would have been justified in terms of the enormous numbers of saved future lives.

Richard Parncutt (born 24 October 1957 in Melbourne) is an Australian-born academic who specializes in the psychology of music. He has been Professor of Systematic Musicology at Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz in Austria since 1998. He attracted international media attention in 2012 for an internet text on climate denial and the death penalty.
These musical types can be a bit highly strung, can't they?

Remember this highly strung dangerous nut job, nurtured by Austria...?

Must be something in the air...hehe

California Rainfall Nearly Back To Normal In 2014

Alarmists seem to have gone quiet about the drought in California lately. I wonder why? Precipitation in 2014 was actually close to normal, ranking 44th driest since 1895. A look at the 60-Month averages shows much more severe droughts in the 20thC. As with all droughts, it will take time for water reserves to build back up again. But it has done so before from much lower levels and there is no reason to suppose it won’t do again.

Paul Homewood, Not A Lot Of People Know That, 12 January 2015

Holdren Holds On To The Faith

President Obama has repeatedly blamed global warming for episodes of severe weather, including wildfires and droughts in the Golden State, but Democrats seeking to unseat Republicans in the hard-hit Central Valley region are balking at that argument. When announcing the a $1 billion climate fund meant to aid farmers and communities dealing with drought, Obama’s science adviser John Holdren said to expect more talk “about the connection between increasing frequency in the intensity of drought and climate change” from the President and the White House. Since then, the White House has released a video in which Holdren said the drought and wildfires raging across California and other western states will continue to happen more frequently due to climate change.

Paul Nurse would appear to have been able to complete a BBC interview without saying anything about Climate Change that the BBC felt was worth reporting in its on-line precis.

got an address for the fkwit, would be nice to pay him a visit on the next bike tour of the region, ask him to repeat it to my face .
on another note, this new super computer really does seem to be a bigger pile of ste than the last one. we have had several "amber" warnings in the last few weeks for central scotland, none have come to fruition. regarding the claimed record wind gusts,i think they just forecast a speed, then record the forecast.
the night a week or so ago it was supposed to blow at up to 80 mph i was out fishing with two mates,it may have gusted to around 35 plus, but nowhere near the forecast 80.

worst hit area close to me this morning has 10 cm of snow, since when the fk did 10cm of snow in scotland warrant an amber weather warning. the sooner the met has it,s budget slashed the better imo.

No, you don't understand. This new £60 million computer is intended to still reach the wrong conclusion, only much, much faster.

India Continues Crack Down On Green Campaigners For Harming Economic Security

In a twist of irony, the very country green activists are trying to “save” from global warming has turned on them for allegedly comprising its economic security. The Indian government has cracked down of Greenpeace and other U.S. environmental groups for protesting its use of coal-fired electricity, India’s biggest source of energy. Last year, India’s Intelligence Bureau issued a report declaring Greenpeace “a potential threat to national economic security… growing exponentially in terms of reach, impact, volunteers and media influence.” The report added that Greenpeace was finding “ways to create obstacles in India’s energy plans” and to “pressure India to use only renewable energy.”

Shale Is Flexible

Due to its flexibility, shale oil has greater resiliency to oil price swings in terms of returns than conventional oil mega-projects. The US shale oil industry will likely emerge from the current turmoil somewhat smaller and slower, but leaner and more competitive.

Oil Price Is A Downer For Believers

The drastic fall in global crude oil prices over the past six months could reduce the chance of a universal agreement on climate change policy this year, according to HSBC. Falling oil prices will challenge countries’ ability to implement climate policy, HSBC said in a recent report.

Then you recall that evidence for global warming means energy or temperature, and requires established causality to humans.

(This is the basis for climate change, in its new name or should that be old name already. Ice, oceans, whatever, are not direct evidence.)

All of which are notable by their absence in that rentapaper with its headline grabbing piece of...research.
