Apparently "sea-level rise and river engineering 'spell disaster' for many of the world's river deltas" and "low lying deltas such as the Mekong, Mississippi or Danube will be more extensively inundated than others".

It may be too late, says a believer in the piece.

Have the Beeb slipped up? They haven't mentioned the climate at all in that article !! It's all either natural, or people playing withs dams and things !
I've noticed quite a few articles like this over the last three months. It is very subtle. Sea level rise is associated with climate change in many peoples' minds.

It looks like a sophisticated propoganda method.
That article goes back nearly a year.

Quite a steady ramp up from subtlety to more blatant scares over the period.

The BBC have no shame. On the 6 O'clock news now they're linking the dumping of food in landfill with climate change, presumably due to the methane. Linking nicely with Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall's current crusade.

Well, they appear to have rather a lot of money tied up in the AGW myth.... So little wonder partiality is found....

Now a German TV meteorologist goes a bit off piste. Not sacked yet.

The Google translation is almost as entertaining as the real content!

"This question we should be asking each protagonist who wants us to Merkel's 2-degree target flimsy tasty."

Yes indeed, and in particular:

1.
If this is reported at all in the BBC (or Guardian)...The issues will be downplayed and the take-away will be that a Conservative has been shown to be a liar...

2.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-34921...

'A former Conservative MP has lost his libel case against The Sunday Times over a "cash for advocacy" claim.'

3.
"That BBC report you link to is a disgrace, giving mostly the defence comments and nothing about the reasons the judge gave for the verdict."

More ridiculous temperature adjustments, this time with the (only) 10 South African stations, again the reality of a warming cooling and warming in the 20th century is erased and replaced with a continuous CO2 mapping warming trend in the majority of cases.

How can you possibly adjust data by -2C and then claim certainty of 1C warming?

The averaged adjustments:-

Another solar energy company is in serious trouble. The Spanish firm, Abengoa has started insolvency proceedings. It appears that lenders are owed $21Bn.

When will politicians wake up to the fact that any business that relies on subsidy is not sustainable?

Have the general public got it at last ?

COP21: Public support for tough climate deal 'declines'

As most here know, the average guy in the street realises that GW or CC is a load of CO2. Hence, most don't consider it all. So the poor Beeb are now blasting their nonsense just to the crazy few. Am I beginning to detect the ‘beginning of the end’?

At the bottom of the piece is this:

"Our correspondent Matthew Price will answer a selection of your questions in Vanuatu, South Pacific on Tuesday 1 December and then Texas, USA on Friday 4 December."

One has to ask - Why?

Why is the BBC apparently sending someone to Vanuatu and then on to Texas just to answer some questions posed by people on-line?

Does nobody at the BBC think of the carbon budget?

Maybe we will strike lucky and have the plainly stupid children stop him getting to the airport.

As I write this, the first seven stories on the BBC 'Science' page are essentially global warming politics/propaganda.

An utter disgrace.

I can count 11 in total - and that doesn't include the videos.

They are utterly shameless.

This is one of the reasons that I would happily see the BBC shut down.

Poor old Tim Yeo, he's had nearly as bad a week Jeremy Corbyn. Not content with losing £400,000 in legal costs, it now looks like Inspector Knacker is "investigating him for perjury...

http://order-order.com/2015/11/27/yeo-faces-met-pe...

Tell me if I'm wrong here but I'm sure we had another lying Minister for Climate Change undergo a similar criminal investigation a few years ago? I can't remember his name, you know, thingy, used to be married to a "top Greek economist" but he ran off with a bicycle or something and had a terribly tricky divorce... smile

IIRC, the name that eludes you is "Chris Who?".

The comments in the Yeo article are very sympathetic. I like this one - "Interestingly, 'Yeo' is an ancient name with a deep heritage going back to the time of William the Conqueror, it means, 'greasy, fat, treachorous, lying, Tory '."

Completely off topic apart from this chap had fallen out with the Royal Society due to its stance on climate change, the BBC might be shameless but not as much as the Royal Society.

The Royal Sorcery is shameless in terms of its collective stance, and curiously mute in other ways. I have former science colleagues who are FRS and a couple of others who 'just' work there. Some years ago I wrote to them with a summary of evidence and reasoning often seen on PH (and elsewhere) in a collegiate scientific manner but not one had the decency to reply. Maybe at an individual level there is some shame.

Indeed.

"Dr Julie Maxton, executive director of the Royal Society, said: "The Royal Society is immensely grateful to both Mr and Mrs Crowley-Milling for their significant support, both during their lifetime and in their wills, for the cause of science." "

I think there may be an "alternative interpretation" to that "statement". "The cause of Science" clause, should it exist in the will, ought to be enough to disqualify the RS claim on its own.

From ICECAP 27 Nov (pdf):

http://icecap.us/images/uploads/Daleo_Under2MOU_pi...

Article said:
Under 2 MOU is an economic suicide pact

By Joseph D’Aleo

Governor Maggie Hassan announced that on behalf of New Hampshire, she signed the Under 2 MOU, a global compact to limit the increase in global average temperature to below two degrees Celsius. New Hampshire joins California, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Vermont and Washington as the only American states to sign the agreement. Hassan said “The science is clear that greenhouse gas emissions and other man-made pollutants are the key contributors to climate change, which threatens our environment, our economy and our way of life.”

...

The reality is, the Under2MOU can be better described as an economic suicide pact ensuring signatory governments forfeit future economic growth by destroying the advantages low cost energy provides to small and large businesses. There is NO evidence that climate change, which has been going on since the planet first had life, is now being affected by the burning of fossil fuel with the release of CO2. US weather satellites and weather balloon data show us there has been no global warming over the last 18.6 years. None.
The political lunacy continues outside of Paris.
