BBC offers a sort of almost partially balanced piece (read it to see if you can spot the pointers to that observation) about the ECONOMICS of Climate Change social thinking.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-34943831

Thankfully right at the end it does point out that really right now with Paris starting up it's all politics taking the lead.

No mention of Science. Which is something of a relief really.

How did that get through? Somebody at the Beeb will meet a sticky end by dawn...

The political lunacy continues outside of Paris.
it is getting to the point the developed western world is turning into a complete fking joke. man made up global warming is yet another first world problem. half the worlds population (statistic in line with climatology statistics generation ) is more concerned with finding its next meal, never mind whether it is a bit warmer in 100 fking years time.

the american clowns are the worst. infant mortality rates in line with third world countries but they can spend billions on this ste. i would happily hang every single scientist, politician, journalist and eco loon incolved in promoting this scam.

The result is moving in the right direction but the language which must be used, because it's inevitable, it still flying over the heads of media hacks and too many members of the public.

Article said:
one in five people believes
If there was a visible causal human signal in any global climate data there would be no need for anyone to believe, as everyone capable of basic scientific rational thought would know, not believe, that a human cause of climate change existed.

This clear demonstration of the lack of any human effect on global climate to discuss in the first place sails over too many heads including (of course) our MPPEs in parliament.

It's 'interesting' that large parts of that article attacks climate change bks. Is this the start of the fight back? I've always held the view that once money comes to the top of the climate change list, and how much in many ways this is going to cost us, some mighty reverse ferrets will happen.

Looks like old Geoffrey Lean is being pushed out of the DT.

He was (one of the many) reasons I stopped subscribing to the DT

I stopped buying the Guardian some while ago re it's CC bks. Just had a look at the website, it's completely lost the plot. All instigated by the deranged thoughts of an ex editor

It would appear the Maurice Strong has passed away.

The comments are most interesting.

Black armbands at COP21 presumably?

Ha ha ha ha ha.

I don't post in this thread often.

Emma dimmo Thompson is currently on Sky News giving her CC views with the marchers in Paris.

She went on, and on, and on, about how we are all doomed unless. I listened to most, shaking my head in disbelief.

Then to close, the interviewer asked her what she 'actually does to help climate change'?

'Well, uh, err, I carry two string bags in my handbag ...'

COP21 is just about the money anyway, they have no agenda/intention of debating the facts, as far as they are concerned it is settled.

Since none of it will be legally binding and no country has any intentions of actually keeping its pledges (or even if they do, the impracticalities/cost of it all will see it abandoned), a few years down the line it will just be a forgotten shambles as the earth quietly cools.

problem with that is you know our dear government will be the one that does, and thus we get screwed.
