An Oxford University researcher has been looking into the internet's most popular conspiracy theories, and has worked out a formula to estimate how long it would take for them to have been sprung, if they were true.
Yet we still have an Official Secrets Act. And MI6.

Boring repost.
It would be nice if you could come up with something original.

Climate change isn't a conspiracy theory anyway. It's a social/political movement. Succeed or fail, they all enter the decline phase eventually.

Oh, Judith Curry did a nice little article on the AAAS et al letter signing stunt you thought was so brilliant.

You'd think a tv show about the Hampton Court garden exhibition would be a reasonably safe watch, but no; it's riddled with uncritical bks about carbon death, renewababbles and ZOMG climate change.

Harrabin on the headlines earlier - London could reach 40deg C in summer, oceans may boil, the dead might walk the Earth...

'Researchers' of the last floods have found that bridges are vulnerable to flooding. Really?

This is the good stuff?

Today’s Beeb CC nonsense report;-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-3676...

Climate change: Advisers warn of climate change domino effect

Notice the word ADVISORS. So scare mongerers is a better term me thinks

“Climate change could have a domino effect on key infrastructure in the UK, government advisers have warned. In a 2,000-page report, the Climate Change Committee says flooding will destroy bridges - wrecking electricity, gas and IT connections carried on them. The committee also warns that poor farming means the most fertile soils will be badly degraded by mid-century. And heat-related deaths among the elderly will triple to 7,000 a year by the 2050s as summer temperatures rise. The UK is not prepared, the committee says, for the risks posed by climate change from flooding and changing coasts, heat waves, water shortages, ecosystem damage and shocks to the global food system. The projections are based on the supposition that governments keep promises made at the Paris climate conference to cut emissions - a pledge that is in doubt. The committee says if emissions are allowed to spiral, London summer temperatures could hit 48C (118F) in an extreme scenario, although the advisers say they don't expect that to happen. The report from 80 authors (expertise in ?) is the most comprehensive yet on the potential impact of climate change on the UK.”

Not much better than a fairy story really. And since when has climate and weather been the same?

The chairman of the committee is John Richard Krebs, Baron Krebs, FRS (born 11 April 1945, Sheffield, England) is an English zoologist researching in the field of behavioural ecology of birds.

Was it not a statement of the bleedin' obvious that if there was even the slightest chance of the whole shebang being right (for whatever reason, human or natural), that all the efforts should have been put into raising the level of the beach rather than sitting on a throne on the sand trying to push the tide back? I.E. prepare for higher temperatures and their consequences instead of bombing humanity back into the caves by wasting all the resources on a Quixotic attempt to do the impossible. If they didn't occur little would be lost, but if they did we'd be ready.

Australian 'hockey stick' reconstruction mirth - a poor study paper is torn apart by 'sceptics', reemerges without credit due, and fails to meet original claims.

Hmm.

Krebs.

Krebs and Anderson.

Not so much a footnote as a Foot and Mouth note.

http://www.numberwatch.co.uk/lest_we_forget.htm

His name does not pop up much in that piece - it can be found more regularly referenced in other pieces related to the events of the times - but he does seem to have been influential on the Government at the time as the "chief executive of the new Food Standards Agency" along with those other avid warmers, King and May.

Much has been published on the subject, as some may remember.

It's worth comparing the way the risks of FMD and CC are presented by these people before digging into any details that may be there to be found.

Unbelievable how this nonsense is allowed to be presented as fact to millions of people.

It's getting churned out every hour just before the weather forecast, which then follows up apologising for the cool summer and hoping things warm up by the weekend.

NOAA claims US warmest June ever (after adjustment and making 60% of the data up!).

Incidentally a while back Gandahar slated Tony Heller for his criticism of the DMI Arctic ice data this year (getting completely the wrong end of the stick), but DMI subsequently deleted and revised this year's data, utterly vindicating Tony's concerns.

Another example of the skeptics knowing better than the 'experts'.
