King Ethelred should have upped the tax on Danish pastry before he gave back all his carbons to the universe.

There was a around, which can't have helped, today we have the Green party.

The weak El Nino anticipated for so long by believers as Gaia's gift to end 'The Pause' has finally arrived given that the latest El Nino Advisory says so - but as it's weak and expected to remain weak, the chances of politically motivated misrepresentation to portray any impacts as a return of manmadeup global warming remain slim. Solar max has also come and gone, weakly, albeit with the odd storm and aurora, and the potential for a Dalton type event is still very much in the data and on the cards. On this basis, ramping for The Cause will need to be even worse than previously thought.

CFACT - Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow has received $582,000 from ExxonMobil since 1998.

I'm sure that this is just coincidental to their views on climate change though

The Big Oil line is a tad old and rather passé, if you want to trot it out you might as well mention that the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, the UK's hotbed of climate alarmism, was set up with funding from Shell and BP as described in the book “The history of the University of East Anglia, Norwich" by Michael Sanderson (p285). UEA CRU was still being funded at least up to 2008 by Shell and BP, so it looks as though Big Oil funding doesn't correlate with views on climate change after all.

If it did, then aligning with the data makes for a better position than UEA CRU or IPCC which hold positions on dangerous manmade warming that run contrary to global climate data where there is no visible causal human signal, but in keeping with inadequate climate models and their gigo. IPCC receives not a few hundred £k but millions of dollars from governments each year (USA $2m-$3m per year alone), its 'scientists' are mostly political appointees, the political summary for policymakers overrides the science in technical sections of reports, but presumably all of that represents no influence at all on the views of the IPCC.

This isn't the climate politics thread for nothing smile science left the building long ago.

TB and I called this right aeons ago when we predicted (albeit tongue in cheek) that they would go here.
Didnt really believe they would be so blatant to actually do it.
Is this an admission that the real world obs are actually showing cooling rather than a flat line (data massaging aside)scratchchin

http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/566104/Climat...
The express also saying -

"The Met Office is forecasting daytime maximums of about 5C in the north this week, and the south shivering in lows of around 4C - Long-range weather models are forecasting below-average temperatures for the next three months ... And experts have warned that below-average temperatures for the next three months could put summer on hold until July." - here

And yet -

"The Met Office’s three-month outlook predicts a strong likelihood of above-average temperatures until the end of May ... The ENTIRE country will bake in the fiercest April temperatures for years out-scorching Spain, Greece and even North Africa" - here

Milligan: It's all rather confusing, really.

Like with ocean 'acidification', it's just another case of ignore the real data and make up a panic story.

Ah - that may be so (although I have no knowledge of these matters) - but you appear to be invoking that most peculiar of arguments, one based upon science.

silly

One suspects that it is only a matter of time until..

Unfortunately that wont work for them, I recall reading some stuff from one of the USAMRID eggheads, who suggested that viruses like Ebola and Mahburg, etc, survive longer at lower temperatures and hot humid environs keep the potential spread down.

IIRC the virus on a cold metallic surface in the lab could hang around for weeks as opposed to a few hours or days in a hot humid environment.
Therefore what we need is MORE warming to see off these diseases smile
That's all very well, but you've forgotten that cold metallic surfaces are caused by global warming.

It's just been announced that Zain/Zayn/Zane Malik has left One Direction, that'll also be due to global warming.
