Plaintiff was 17 at the time of the alleged, so it's not a 'pedo' issue.
It is in Florida, according to the Telegraph, still considered a minor.
A person of 17 is still considered a minor in the UK too. The age at which somebody is considered "full age" in the UK is 18.

Also - peadophilia is a precise medical term - not a legal one. Nobody has ever been prosecuted for "paedophilia".
Dead right. Same as no-one was ever prosecuted for being a homosexual, it's a state of mind, not an offence. The offence is when you do something about it.

Whatever the "ins and outs" of this case, it's publicity the Queen can do without.

Royalty are well payed by us the taxpayer. The taxpayer pays nothing to Royalty, the Crown contracted with the state over the income from the Crown estates.
Prince Andrew receives nothing from the state.

To be pedantic, surely it is the law where the act took place (US Virgin Islands I assume as it says Epsteins island which google suggests is St Thomas)

It is only a matter of pedantry as the law there seems to be the same

I wonder how it would work. Can a state ask for extradition when somebody breaks a state, rather than a federal law.

Interestingly, the majority of states in the US have the same age of consent as we do here in the UK. Only eight have an age of consent of 18 and a further nine have an age of consent of 17.

Unlike the UK, many states have official "close age" exemptions. For example in Connecticut a 13 year old can consent to a 15 year old and 15 year olds can consent or 17 or 18 year olds depending on when their respective birthdays lie. Florida also has a close age exemption which allows people of 16 or 17 to consent - so long as the person they are consenting to is 23 or below (which obviously would not apply in this case).

Would that not be statutory rape then
He could get a private hire licence in Rotherham.

Shame he's missed out the New Year's Eve rush.

Telegraph link says that the woman claims to have been forced multiple times to have sex with Prince Andrew.

So we're talking about a rape allegation, presumably?

I do hope that this is untrue, not for his sake but for his parents.
I'm not sure Lord Porchester is in any position to be upset by the allegations.

He does however get paid several million pounds over the asking price for his house from a very very dodgy millionaire. I suspect he is a bit odious in private life

According to the Daily Mail, they met three times; once in London, once in New York and once in the Caribbean when she was 18.

She was of the legal age of consent in each of these locations.

DM said:
Virginia says she met Prince Andrew three times. First, when she accompanied Epstein on a six-week trip to Europe and North Africa in 2001, they went to Ghislaine Maxwell’s London house.

On the last leg of the trip, Epstein paid her $15,000 which she described as ‘amazing money, more than I’d ever made on a trip with him before’

She says she met Andrew a second time at Easter 2001, finding him sitting in a leather armchair at Epstein’s Manhattan home

Her final encounter with the prince was on Epstein’s Caribbean island, by which time she was 18.

It's always great fun watching royalists try to defend their false idols.

This thread is a classic of the genre.

Maŷbe I am just lucky but I've never been accused of paedophilia.
