I hope you enjoy 5 years of Milliband and closer ties with Europe. It's what you're suggesting you want.

I'm not sure he really destroys him in a logic and reasoning kind of way, puerile insults and childish put-downs probably yes.

For some perhaps. For many (myself included) mocking someone else and sidestepping questions in the process puts me off voting for someone.

What can he gain from making Miliband look stupid? Everyone already knows that Miliband is a bit of an idiot and they either aren't voting for him because of it or they are voting for him despite it.

Miliband has nothing to lose from a debate with Cameron as public opinion of him is already so low. However, if Cameron were to slip up, appear hesitant or even look ill (see 1960 US presidential debate) then he could lose support.

I think you will find they are saying they might do that. The problem is it would likely be illegal.

I can't recall him answering a question directly, it will be interesting to see if he manages it in the debates.

All they have to do is to have a conservative there

I could join the conservative party

Turn up at the debates and scream "I love hamsters" whenever asked a question

And not only would i appear to be the most sane there but it would also fulfil the legal requirement

That was a reasoned, mature reply. Well done.

I can't remember any politician answering questions directly.

Good on Cameron.
The other lightweights & (poor) game show hosts (remember university fee promises?) have nothing better to do.
Cameron is busy sorting out the mess left by the last POS. Most accept that Cameron & co. have sorted out the shambles left by (there is nothing left in the kitty) Labour.
UKIP are history due to their candidates outing themselves for what they really are.

Conservatives will walk it & apply their sensible policies with no dilution!!

He wants all those minor parties to be there so we can see what fools they are. It doesn't need to trash them, they can do it all by themselves.

Why can't the other parties simply hold their own debate, and leave an empty chair for the Tories?

I'd still watch, and surely viewing figures are all the networks care for?

I voted Tory last time. I'm undecided currently, If the Tories won't get involved, I'm not voting for them - a party demonstrating a lack of backbone and trying to weasel it's way around what it perceives to be difficult issues tells me all I need to know.
UKIP the future

I think he can cope with EM, do wonder if all this is a plan to play hard to get - eventually attend and then wipe the floor with EM. Here is hoping.

yes

An example: Miliband asked Cameron over and over in PMQs a fortnight ago, about what he knew of the HSBC scandal, Cameron evaded the question each time with immature insults and put downs.

As PMQ's doesnt have 22 million+ watching it he can get away with it, the same thing in a head to head tv debate wouldn't wash.
