As I've already said, Cameron is asserting who is in Charge.

This election, for me, is the clearest descision for a long time.
Cameron may be in charge but he didn't win the last election, even more reason to get involved with the TV debates.
He has forgotten that he didn't win last time around, last week's P.M. Questions he had the brass neck to refer to the Government as 'this Conservative Government'. Obviously another attempt at smoke and mirrors conveniently overlooking the Lib - Dems that have propped up the Tories.

Clegg won the debate last time but it didn't add up to votes.
It didn't win them any more seats. They got more votes than the last time out and a larger % of total votes.
Still pretty pointless then.
No, if Ed or Dave win the debates the impact of those extra votes would be completely different to what it was for the Lib Dems. Going from, say, 16% to 20% in a constituency doesn't win you seats, that's why the Lib Dems didn't gain from it, going from 30% to 34% does.

Chancellor George Osborne shook hands today over appearing in a televised election debate with Ed Balls after he was caught off guard by his opposite number.

Mr Balls sprang his ambush when the two men were sitting together at the end of BBC1’s Andrew Marr Show.

The Chancellor shook Mr Balls’s hand in apparent agreement to the televised clash, but then suggested his Liberal Democrat deputy, Danny Alexander, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, should also take part.

Asked whether he was interested in a debate, Mr Balls said: “Of course, and I would like to go further. George and I don’t need the broadcasters to sort these things out.

“George is not a coward. David Cameron doesn’t want a head-to-head with Ed Miliband but I’m very happy – I will have a head-to-head debate, just the two of us, the potential Chancellors during the election campaign.”

He challenged Mr Osborne: “You can say now – are you up for it?”

The Chancellor replied: “As I say, happy to have this Chancellors’ debate, just as we did in the last election.”

Mr Balls pressed him: “Come on George, let’s go for it.”

Mr Osborne reiterated: “I’m happy to meet you in a debate.”

Offering his hand, the shadow Chancellor said: “We should shake on it and go for it.”

Mr Osborne appeared reluctant but shook his opponent’s hand before adding: “We are going to see who else wants to be part of that. I've got a very effective Chief Secretary, who I think would also want to be part of that debate.”

He added: “I think we should include Danny Alexander.”

Mr Balls countered: “No, one-to-one - we just shook on it.

I don't see it as inconsistaant as dave is the only consistant one of the lot. He was happy with the debates as they were but Labour wanted UKIP to take tory votes, it is they that wanted to change the rules in their favour not Dave.
You need to check the timeline.

Ofcom assessed UKIP as a major party a few months ago. This means UKIP 'have' to be in the debates- 'no ifs or buts' wink
No they didn't. And this has been pointed out several times. They issued a consultation paper which suggested that "UKIP may qualify for major party status". They invited responses to that by early Feb and they are due to publish the actual list in early March, which AFAIK they have not yet done.

So as it stands UKIP are not a major party for general elections.

So your assertion is plain rubbish
And, just as has been asserted:

Ofcom have announced their decision on party election broadcasts:

Ofcom said:
After carefully assessing consultation responses, evidence of electoral performance and trends in opinion polling data up to and including February 2015, Ofcom has added UKIP to the list in England and Wales for the May 2015 elections.

Based on the evidence, the Green Party (including the Scottish Green Party) and TUV have not been added to the list on this occasion.

As a result, those parties entitled to a minimum of two party election broadcasts are:

In Great Britain, the Conservative Party; the Labour Party; and the Liberal Democrats.

In Scotland, the Scottish National Party (SNP).

In Wales, Plaid Cymru.

In Northern Ireland, the Alliance Party; the Democratic Unionist Party; Sinn Féin; the Social Democratic and Labour Party; and the Ulster Unionist Party.

In England and Wales, UKIP.

rofl Poor JustAnotherLogin. He had been praying every night that his little letter to Ofcom would get UKIP somehow declared otherwise.

As predicted the report Cameron commissioned in to the Muslim Brotherhoods activities in the UK and wether they should be considered as a terrorist organisation like they are in Egypt has been shelved or delayed depending on sources.
