Indeed, but is there a need to deliberately provoke ?
I don't tend to provoke - I just ignore them as best I can but it's not always easy. Religious people provoke each other. Religious people provoke the non-religious. It works all ways.Dicks.

"Religion has got no privilege whatsoever. We heard the pope today say the Religion is specially privileged. This is nonscence. why?
The idea that because you feel strongly about something, that no-one must challenge you, is an absurdity"
Absolutely excellent. "Religion has got no privilege whatsoever. We heard the pope today say the Religion is specially privileged. This is nonscence. why?
The idea that because you feel strongly about something, that no-one must challenge you, is an absurdity"

There's a difference between not giving any credence to religion, and being a about it.
Say it was not religion. Pretend it's football... Of course you have every right to think that Man u are ste, but going down to the trafford arms and telling the fans that they're ste is probably not the decent thing to do. Not only is it risking a kicking, it's just winding people up for no reason whatsoever.
There is a difference between respectivng a religion, and actively showing it disrespect.
bad analogy, it's not like people are going to Mecca to insult Islam or Jerusalem to insult Christ or Judah or whatever guySay it was not religion. Pretend it's football... It's bad enough when they knock on your door trying to spread the word, I once got stuck working with a born again Christian who felt it was his duty to insert "His Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ" into every conversation. That was a loooong 12 hour shift. He never paid me back the money I loaned him for dinner that day either, I bet a hell bound sinner would have.

But it's been hard sometimes you know.
Hard as nails.
Is it me, but it seems that the ones who feel persecuted in someway feel the need for some sort of special treatment.... i.e I'm Jewish/Muslim/Christian, you must respect me
Yet the ones who don't raise the spectre of religion in their daily lives have to some how suddenly respect these people who say they are persecuted, quite frankly I don't give a monkeys and what's more I am actually becoming intolerant to it.
Am I being a dick about this, have I got it all wrong?
I just don't see why I have to give special treatment to other humans.

Surely it is not about giving special treatment, it is about common decency, about not doing things to deliberately provoke others, to not ridicule others beliefs even if you do find them ridiculous.Corpulent Tosser said:

Exactly this has been lost in the past few decades unfortunately It appears on PH that the most evangelical approach comes from non-believers.
They don't seem to be comfortable in their non-belief and don't seem to want to live and let live.
Just think awhile and you may realise your attitude is one of intolerance, intolerance is what fundamentalist dheads thrive on.
