Oh dear what? She points out that she is an almost daily drug user, like an awful lot of people and says she smoked a bit of pot at uni, who really gives a fk?

I couldn't care less if the Prime Minister enjoyed a spliff once a week, personally.

Well, maybe I am misinterpreting it, but my take on it is a bit more than that!

I think your use of the word occasional is somewhat wide of the mark.

OK, I've read a bit on the LTV and as far as I can tell it's a way or raising the level of council tax without calling it council tax. There's no way that will ever be anything other than another tax on top of all of the rest. Also with the demographics of the UK ( baby boomers ) it looks like political suicide.

I've re-read my post a few times and can't see where I said 'occasional' - what is it about her statement which made you think 'oh dear'? Are you worried that she is an alcoholic?

Political suicide doesn't stop it being a good idea.

It isn't council tax - you pay council tax based on the occupancy of a house, not the ownership of land.

Yes, sorry, cross-read the wrong post!

My feeling is that she's smoked enough to have cooked her brain, going on her speech (as in the way she speaks) and the totally off the looney-wall idea's.

if you look up the long term effects of cannabis, looks like a match.

I think you might be suffering the long-term effects of serious substance abuse, given your inability to do something as simple as edit a quote and the paranoia displayed based on jumping to conclusions from a 30 second video clip.

What about her speech indicates long-term cannabis use? Could you link me to a well-cited, peer-reviewed paper which states cannabis use causes speech impediments (if that's what you're implying, you are very unclear) and also that it manifests left-wing ideology in your brain? It's just I've read just about every scientific study there has been into long term cannabis use and I'm really struggling to see where you're coming from.

not sure about 'substance abuse', but certainly long term 'fuzzy thinking'.

Motorcyclists have always seen themselves as a bit green and probably felt The Green Party would maybe come out and support them a bit. Not a bit of it.

The Furness branch of the Motorcycle Action Group asked the question and the reply wasn't what they were expecting.

The Green Party said:
Dear Danny
Thanks for your email, apologies for the delay in replying. Our policy on motorbikes is that smaller, low powered motorcycles are generally preferable to cars (especially those with a single occupant) as they take up less road space and are more economic consumers of fuel.

However, the Green Party does not wish to see increased use of motorcycles because they emit pollution and noise and can endanger road users. The aim is to encourage much less use of high powered machines and for low powered machines to offer an alternative for those who currently use these or cars and could not transfer to more sustainable modes. The Green Party would take measures to encourage a transfer of motor cycle
manufacture and use from larger, powerful machines to less powerful ones including scooters and mopeds. These would include setting and enforcing strict noise limits and, for higher powered machines, speed limiters.

For the safety of other users, the Green Party does not feel it appropriate for motorcyclists to be able to use any priority measures put in for pedestrians and cyclists, including those shared with public transport.

Best wishes

Good grief another car crash interview from Bennett with Nick Ferrari just now, incredible stuff, she has absolutely no idea of the costings of any of her own policies.

Doesn't make a lot of difference, anyone who would vote for these loons is economically illiterate anyway.

It's only other people's money.

Quite. They do not give a fk about the costs.

Besides, isn't there some nugget in their policy docs about wanting to bring back bartering on a semi-serious scale into the economy? If you don't understand money, abolish it.

Scooters and Mopeds.... correct me if I am wrong, but aren't these things 2-stroke? i.e. worse emissions wise than a more poweful 4 stroke engine?

EDIT: Peruse of a few manufacturers would suggest even the 50cc ones are 4-stroke. Still, they are miserable little things only suited to buzzing about town or a city.

Building 500,000 council homes for a total cost of £2.7 billion, apparently these will cost only £60,000 each to build (do as they say, the maths). All to be paid for by preventing private landlords claiming tax relief on their mortgage payments, but she has no idea how much this would raise.

Is there no beginning to her expertise?

They also have a far more annoying exhaust sound than the larger bikes
