Oink. Problem is, people are voting for them. Democracy eh? Enough X's in the right place and who knows.
If anyone wishes to vote for them after hearing the entire LBC interview with Nick Ferrari, they must surely be certifiable. It was so obvious their extreme left un thought out politics of envy, crazed uncosted policies and general blathering would render them destroyers of the economy. I would urge anyone to try to hear the entire LBC interview if they haven't already and don't rely on some media outlet's edited versions.
agreed..

I find it quite terrifying that people like her are simply too stupid to realise their very limited capabilities.

In life, I have meet some scarily clever people, in all sorts of ways, from the ones that are literally human calculators who have the mental speed and accuracy to run rings round 99.9% of people (never go into commercial negotiations with these people!) to lateral thinkers that can pluck a solution out of the air that's just not been seen before.

however, the one thing that stands out with genuinely clever people is they usually have a very good handle on their own limitations, and stick to them.

Ms. Bennett comes across like a really pushy person who not only is too stupid to grasp basic concepts, but either does not think that it's important to or (more scarily) just does not realise she is missing anything, illustrated by her eagerness to be interviewed but doing absolutely zero preparation to back up the policies she was about to launch.

Now, she is far from alone in politics, but must be right up there in the top 10 of stupidity.

Indeed, I missed the Andrew Neil interview but it was on catchup and this is on the LBC site. A few mentions for "wait for the manifesto" as it was in the Andrew Neil bit. I have a sneaky suspicion that the sums are not there and they have not tackled them, or cannot rather. Which is a bit at odds with what I think is happening but there we are.

I have looked through their manifesto on line as well, as much as is there which is quite a lot but there is not much meat.

Not read it all, but basic income for all (Citizens' Income??) and how it is funded came up in the TV interview. Tis in that link with all that is missing. Eco Taxes are also interesting. I could be taxed out of a job and rely the Citizens' Income. That is another thing that should get another outing on the radio.

Reminds me of the Natural Law Party but have managed to get better at it.

Nick Ferrari really takes no prisoners at times, loved his comment and the utter contempt he showed to the silly cretin when she started the coughing lark....classic. hehe
You never had proper world statesmen using the "sorry I 'ave a cold" excuse. Makes you wonder how history might have turned out...

Neville Chamberlain: "I have to tell you no such undertaking has been received and consequently we are at war with Ger-ger-herrrr-man-hoooogahh-you-bd"

Churchill: "I have nothing to offer but blood sweat toil and catarrh"

Thatcher: "The lady's not for... ahem ahem ahem sniff sniff... tissue please Dennis"

Martin Luther King: "I have a drrrrr-eadful cold!"

Have another: rofl

Mind you, instead of 'Incumbent' I'd suggest 'Incompetent"

Politicians will continue to amaze with their levels of stupidity and ignorance until such times as we actually set some criteria for the job in the first place. Of all the professions that are out there this is the single one that requires precisely no qualifications whatsoever to do, yet as a job it is to my mind, the one that should have some of the toughest qualifications to enter.

It really is time that rules where set and minimum standards put in place for parliamentary candidates. You could start of with "must have lived in the real world with the rest of us"

Is Lucas likely to retain her seat in May?

I caught a bit of their telly ad earlier but switched off as it seemed to be a whinge about the cost of an anytime train tickets to Sheffield.

Bizarre.
It looks like she will retain her seat and probably even increase her majority.

Someone needs to dig a deep trench along the boundary of that constituency, tow it out to sea, and sink it.

I mean I think she believed that fluffy wuffy views were so self explanatory it was obvious to anyone, the panic that must have set in as the questions arrived must have awful (diddums).
I suspect this is exactly what happened. But what is bizarre is that she was equally flabbergasted the next time an interviewer asked questions.
Yep, those who believe wholeheartedly the stuff they've been fed often don't have anything more behind them than the headline idea when you ask them about it. Statement X is true and they can't see why anyone else would think otherwise and hence would never ask why. Similarities with religion.

rofl That brought tears to my eyes. Death by Nick Ferrari; the ignominy!

She and the rest of the watermelons are a good example of Dunning Kruger; people too stupid to realise how stupid they are, and other stupid people are voting for them and donating money to fund...?

I'm not sure what they're funding, it clearly isn't paying for a vaguely numerate economist to balance their budget.

The idea of a minimum income was first raised by Milton Friedman in the 1970. He referred to it as "negative income tax".

Good grief! She would have done better to have followed Ms Bennett's example and kept her mouth shut.

yes

That must be the most patronising and arrogant political interview I've ever heard.

I did especially like the "it's all in the document but I haven't got my reading glasses" bit

And that, despite the car crash that is Politics today, is why proportional representation should never be introduced. It would give these utter nutters influence way beyond their little camp fires.
