I'd love to give Thatch a good kicking about this but this is a non party issue.

"they are all in it together"
Vaz's leak was to get some inconvenient unpleasantness out in the public domain before the election?

The issue of tolerance and cover up of child molesting in the public sector, be it for political or politically correct reasons has been 'Weaponised'?

We need a few standing on an anti-Paedo pro-Whistle blower ticket? The Unpalatable Truth Party or UTP?

A few independent MPs in Westminster would keep the establishment that busy trying to be honest they'd have less time to fiddle with kids and sweep their sordid little secrets under the carpet?

Lots of "allegedly" and "reportedly" in that article. No idea of the truth, but I'd say it's time for put up or shut up for the media, don't you think?

Maybe he did maybe he didn't but it's convenient how there's absolutely zero evidence (least nothing I recall readon about)

Westy Pre-Lit is said to like small boys. Photos were taken, only we haven't got them - but there's no smoke without fire.

See how easy it is?
Case in point being Councillor Alex Folkes in Cornwall. I think Iain Dale is one of his supporters.

I don't know about the incomers, but I reckon the native Cornish could build quite an impressive Wicker Man given the opportunity.

Please note that case doesn't involve small boys, it's mentioned as an example of how people can be smeared with little or no evidence.

Blimey and I deleted that within around 1 minute of posting it because I know some people might have a woosh moment.

I think you take my point though - the chap might have done everything said of him, but it's literally just mud-slinging right now and if you sling enough some will stick regardless of what emerges as the truth.

Buried in an unmarked grave due to fears over vandalism....I suspect there is a lot more to come out.

I suspect you are correct.

I wonder how many more of the 'high and mighty' we are waiting to shuffle off uncharged before the truth about them comes out.

I hope you'll find the correction helpful.

Given there is no evidence of any such crimes committed by Leon Brittan, I find myself, like Dan Hodges, almost hoping he was guilty, so that his family is not having to suffer without cause.

Given that no evidence emerged before the sweaty fat old died and also before he could be charged....I'd say he was much alike Jimmy Savile - it's just a shame his alleged victims will never get their day in court.

Could be that, obviously. But given we're in a post- Savile world, don't you think someone with actual proof would be publishing? Victims could speak out without fear of legal ramifications, could they not?

So why don't they?

Threats, back-handers, a "Robin Cook", or "Michael Kelly" type chat with an ex-member of the SBS, or similar perhaps......there are many, many ways of keeping people quiet.

That is a possibility. But there sure wouldn't be death threats against a newspaper.

If I was a journalist? With any form of proof? Knowing the libel law didn't apt?

Like a rat up a drainpipe.

"Cops have raided Tory Lord Leon Brittan’s homes over alleged child abuse – just SIX weeks after he died.

Detectives swooped on the former Home Secretary’s properties in London and North Yorkshire, the Sunday Mirror and news investigators Exaro can reveal

And in a dramatic development officers from Operation Midland – set up to investigate historic claims of child abuse by a group of powerful men – also searched the home of 91-year-old D-Day veteran Lord Bramall, once Britain’s highest-ranking Army officer.

The four raids were carried out at dawn on Wednesday at the same time officers swooped on the home of former Tory MP Harvey Proctor , 68.

Sources say the they were signed off by a “senior figure” in the Operation Midland team."

+1. I think you may be onto something with that suggestion Carinaman......
