I'm not saying Benedict did anything other than a brain fart under pressure and of course it's hard to keep up with what people find offensive but when you're in a position of power as he is, and privilege as he is then you deserve to be held to account.
Well at least you called him by his actual name in that post, not the childish Cumber(add your own insult here) that you have in other posts.Reading your posts remind me why I gave up my socialist leanings, I was around 23 at the time, I realised that socialism was all about envy, it wasn't that I wanted equality for all, that would be stupid, we are not all equal, it was about jealousy, I didn't have so why should others have.
I wanted some, so I worked and learned and worked some more, I am no longer envious. You should try it.
Isn't it strange that so many lefties including many politicians, seem to think it's OK to label 'toffs/posh boys' in every possible way and indeed advocate discrimination against them yet they campaign so hard against discrimination in any other form
If wealthy and/or privileged/posh people talk in a condescending or discriminatory manner about the working classes/poor(er) people, they quite rightly get pounced on so why is it deemed acceptable the other way round ?

Sounds like you're firmly middle class, bordering on Toff.
You may wish to commission some paintings of yourself now and secure your legacy!
Can you recommend anyone? You may wish to commission some paintings of yourself now and secure your legacy!
I just thought up a new vital question - Do you have a job you could explain to a bar man in the time it takes for a pint of mild to settle?
Easy peasy.

Ok, I'll be the judge of whether you're a Toff or not...
Do you own property or were you born in Chelsea, South Kensington or Knightsbridge?
Do you decant your wine?
Do you have an unusually overly ponced name, like Benedict, Wanda or Sheridan?
Do you have a summer house with Black Labradors, horses and a private boating lake, with a staff of 7 that you visit 3 weeks of the year?
Do you ski in Switzerland?
Do you have paintings of dead relatives up in your house?
Have you ever eaten swan?
Do you shoot? Hunt Foxes? Wear fancy welly boots and wax jackets into town on a saturday and own more than one umbrella?
If the answer to all of the above is yes then I'm afraid you're a Toff, 3 or more yes puts you on (what I call) the Toff spectrum and you'll need to return for a second opinion - please bring with you a set of dental imprints, a photograph of your sister and any silver cutlery you have lying around the house.
HTH
Is it wrong that I don't have, but would love to have/do some of those things? (except for the dead relatives, and the wax jacket...) Surely everybody would love to be fortunate enough to have a summer house and go boating? Hell, with a bit of luck and hard work I might get there (even if I don't quite get the summer house a decent house of my own in the South East and enough money to go on holiday I'll still be fine).Do you own property or were you born in Chelsea, South Kensington or Knightsbridge?

I really don't get lefties; I'm envious of toffs/bankers (or whatever is irking the left this week)but I don't dislike them for it! Socialists see other people have nice things and default to a position of "it's not fair" rather than thinking "I'll crack on, work hard, and you never know, I might be able to get there. Or at least leave my kids in a position to get the boat etc".

That you think you having a go at 'toffs' is punching up and acceptable, whereas 'toffs' having a go at working classes is punching down and so unacceptable is quite enlightening, well it is more of a confirmation than enlightening I suppose. You actually think that 'toffs' are better than you, you have an inferiority complex, and that is why you have that big chip on your shoulder.
Am I correct ?
