Cotswold Wildlife Park donated their space. Drivers were also given free entry to the park.
I posted in the events and meetings about this a while back to get some of you on board. However PH deemed it a charity event and removed my thread. Then ran a story about it.
The support has been phenomenal however.

That was a fantastic gesture by them. Burford WP hosts the 'Specials' (cars that is!) day every August, great event. Worth attendance.
Unlike the gesture by PH (above) - that bloody stinks imo (and others by the look of it).
Amazing what goes on. Some of it is amazing, like those who have supported this old guy in his hour of need. Thumbs up to Vauxhall too.
As for PH...
It originated from a few on Facebook back in February. Here's a link to the original group. It's been closed to new members since the convoy registrations were full but looking to be re-opened shortly.

Now I understand why it gravitated to Facebook. Once again PH gets it wrong.
Not really. PH is a business and as such can be liable if something organised goes wrong. Around 2006 or 7, there were a few unofficial ph big car meets that went very wrong, for example the chedar gorge meet. Hundreds of cars turn up without notifying the gorge. Take over and as ever some tts fked about so much that ph got a spanking, even though they didn't arrange it.So whilst it appears bad form, our community has itself to blame.

There are many arguments for and against. I get this. The 'charity', sponsorship, endorsement blah blah blah. So whilst it appears bad form, our community has itself to blame.
It isn't always about money. Sometimes it really is people with similar interests getting together. Or showing moral support for a cause.
However you might as well disband PH, if, as a community, we can't get together without the business organising it officially. You only need look in the local forums to find monthly and weekly meets being organised.
Sometimes there's no consistency.

I suppose in that regard it's understandable, as said they are a business and the forum is a free part of it. It's not like many other forums that are purely just owners forums etc..So whilst it appears bad form, our community has itself to blame.
Because it's utterly beyond them to add a disclaimer?
And strangely all sorts of other events are mentioned on here which are nothing to do with them.
As excuses go that's pathetically weak. Though sadly not unexpected.
Did the story they wrote link to the Facebook page or were they too useless to even manage that?

Like I said it was deemed a charitable event and I understand their issue if that were so. I wasn't looking for sposorship or endorsement. What would've been nice was that one would've been able to put a request forward for PHers with yellow cars if they'd be interested.
It seems Facebook is now the place for freedom of expression as well as meeting like minded folk for discussion without disclaimers or adhering to strict moderation rules.

Yesterday seemed to go really well but had the massive potential to turn in to some Barry boy ttfest.
If you dont like it, you know where the door is. I too had a charitable event pulled. I see it as their loss not mine.
I've seen bad behaviour at super car meets. It's not specific. If you dont like it, you know where the door is. I too had a charitable event pulled. I see it as their loss not mine.
Yesterday was about coming together to show support AGAINST bad behaviour, particularly vandalism of vehicles due to personal preference. It relied on the good nature of participants to behave.
Barryboy ttfest behaviour isn't intrinsic to just one group of people. It takes one or two people in ANY group. Officially organised or other. Hopefully yesterday proved that the car community can bring smiles, love and happiness.
