I suspect his life is going to be far less welcoming and friendly from now on.
That is the nature of the beast. I was quite aghast when I read the article on this last night. I would have thought, given that he was portrayed as such a kind man previously, that he would have seen fit to settle the bill on behalf of the woman who worked so tirelessly to build him a fortune.

The Chronicle had posted the article on their Facebook page and it was generating some extremely negative replies, most of them condemning the greed of the benefactor in this affair and plenty of them quite upset at having donated in the first place. The post was removed, taking the replies with it but it was quite obvious what the majority thought. Many talked of feeling duped or conned.

That is without even considering what people thought of the PR company in this. It makes you wonder what they did, because the story generated so much interest from social media it was a 'runner' in it's own right. I'm not sure it needed a PR company to publicise it, but I can quite imagine that they saw what seemed like an unending outpouring of cash and sought to latch onto it.

According to an old article. He only took £150k. Katie launched a charity with the remaining cash. It seems like this is what has the 8k PR bill.
So now we don't want the fker blown into the sea, or given a good shoeing? Maybe just a punch in the face?
You owe me a new screen. Red wine and iMac are not natural bedfellows laugh
Sorry about that. I'll look into setting up a charity to buy you a new one. Do you look like a character out of Lord of the rings? That could be helpful.

Seems she may have hired the PR firm just to get herself onto TV shows like Celebrity Big Brother. That's from the PR firm itself.

Had I been asked at the start of this how it would turn out i would have predicted pretty much what has happened.

No surprises at all here.

Hmmm...the PR woman needs a PR firm to tell her to stop digging the hole she's in. If it was true then it's odd that Katie didn't understand why the PR woman wanted to accompany her to London when she appeared on TV.

Another thing - the picture of the cheque in that article is for the full amount £335K. I thought Alan only accepted £150K and Katie put the rest towards the charity she's in the process of setting up.

This is the gift that keeps on giving. So now it turns out she only did all this in the pursuit of fame?

The PR lady is coming across as a right bh, I wouldn't be surprised if she loses some business over this.

So someone is asked to do a job, does the job, sends in the bill and is a bh because of it?

Seems quite straightforward to me - girl sets up charity site for old bloke, gets a bit of fame, likes it, hires PR firm to promote her (not promote anything to do with the charity), didn't get any fame, tries to stiff PR firm for the bill, the mentally challenged of PH get the pitchforks out for the PR firm - that about right?

Do you think it's really appropriate to say things like "she pretends to be innocent and lovely but it's all a front"?

Or claim that the person earns between £5k-10k a month and can therefore easily afford to pay the bill. A beautician from Gateshead earning £10k a month, really?

And you know it's not true? So the girl is allowed to say what she likes about the PR firm, but they aren't allowed to give their side? And to return to the crux of the matter - you think the PR firm should work for free?

That is of course if that's what happened.

It could very well have been the case that the PR company seen the amounts of money pouring in and figured it could enhance this amount plus have a cut for itself.

The fact there appears to be no paperwork/nothing signed, which is one of the first things any PR company would do, doesn't exactly help their case.

As has been said earlier, it appears they are a bunch of money grabbers that will no doubt be the cause of their own downfalls.

Did she seek out the PR firm or did the PR firm cold call her because they saw an opportunity? A big difference.

She has paid some of the bill, so seems to agree there was an arrangement to pay in place.
