If you think the right to free speech and opinion is meaningless then please feel free to not comment as all writing is obviously irrelevant

Seriously, Dude. Following the title, the content of this thread really disappoints.
Apologies to you, I agree. I must admit that I thought people with access to free speech would feel free to speak and not to think that we must ignore everything that we have available to us and pretty much admit defeat! It seems that many people have already said "well that's the way it's going to turn out, my grandkids may be fd but hey that's the way it's going to be so what the hell, it's not really going to affect me!

Hardly. A very strong message being sent out that we do not bow down to terrorism.
Though it appears that we do now. A worry to me is that this will lead to far right increases at election time.
So it was meaningless bks after all then. Personally I found it totally cringe worthy.Though it appears that we do now. A worry to me is that this will lead to far right increases at election time.

Can you elaborate.translate to the rather more sensible
'All it meant was 'I like the idea of aiming for free speech (but I may or may not understand that slippery concept and that nowhere is there an absolute right to it ) and I dislike terrorists acts (or rather smaller ones closer to home affecting people more like me)'

Sorry I do not understand any of that but that should have been your first post.Slippery concept?
That last bit is incredible
You dislike smaller terrorist acts closer to home affecting people like you
so you don't mind them further away? Or if the people are not like you that are affected? What do you mean by people like you!

Why is it a worry? The far right haven't flown planes into buildings, beheaded innocent civilians, run down and butchered soldiers on our streets or run amok in France killing anyone who's not like them.
You're "worried" about the wrong set of "extremists".

There was the slight issue of a 6 year war in which 6 million jews were killed but apart from that, you're right. Nothing to worry about. The far right haven't flown planes into buildings, beheaded innocent civilians, run down and butchered soldiers on our streets or run amok in France killing anyone who's not like them.

Yawn. Did your teacher tell you that in class this week. Must bet those ghastly kippers to blame for it all. Good video from Pat Condell on the matter. http://youtu.be/GCXHPKhRCVg

No, I am worried about the average muslim person who is not an extremist but who might nevertheless be attacked. The far right haven't flown planes into buildings, beheaded innocent civilians, run down and butchered soldiers on our streets or run amok in France killing anyone who's not like them.

I am worried that "bowing down" to such threats and terrorist acts will lead to more acts of violence against ordinary muslims.
I think all right thinking people should be worried about that.
