I'm thrilled to announce that Doug LaDouche has thrown his hat into the ring.

Doug made his announcement exclusively on the Indianapolis based nationally syndicated Bom & Tom show yesterday.

Vote Doug. You know it makes sense.

He won't last long.

The comedy institution that is SNL will be calling him all sorts of names - "LaDoucheBag" would be one for starters. I could see a mock debate between "TheDonald" & "LaDoucheBag".

I still think of Daryl Hammond being Al Gore and talking about hanging chads and Will Ferrell saying the Bush administration would bring"strategery".

Comedy gold is going to hit the airwaves soon I think.
Ummmm........................... OK Gavin.

Bobby Jindal is now in and taking a lot of flak from Indians and American Indians as he seems to want to distance himself from his heritage.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-33272125

So we now have for the GOP;

Cruz
Paul
Rubio
Pataki
Santorum
Fiorina
Carson
Huckabee
Graham
Bush
Walker
Perry
Jindal
Trump!

Still to declare but will;

Kasich
Christie

May still declare;

Ehrlich
King
Gilmore
West
Haley

That's a tough one.

A few years ago I would have said Christie as I saw him as an everyman who you'd be happy to have a pint with and he seemed moderate. He's been badly damaged by Bridgegate though and he's displayed a tendancy towards being an intolerant bully which doesn't sit well with the electorate. There are bits of Paul and Graham that are agreeable but other bits that are not agreeable at all. I think being sane and sensible is incompatable with being a GOP candidate.

In other news the supreme court threw out the latest (and most serious) challenge to Obamacare today so that should be that. It won't be though as it's red meat to the rabid right so these morons will continue to stir the pot if they can.

I would actually say Jeb Bush.

He seems to be a quite boring individual who is not as feckless or thick as his brother. He's quite conservative, but not nearly as much so as most of the other candidates.

The big boy is in!

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/01/us/politics/chri...

A couple of years ago I would have had him as the favourite but I think Bridgegate has damaged him too much. He's combative and should mix it up in the debates as the others will accuse him of being an Obamaite.

Apparently a large proportion of Fox News viewers won't vote for Christie because he once appeared to be friendly to Obama.

I had a hilarious conversation with an American colleague last night who said Obama was a far left socialist and the healthcare reforms and working agreements were all terrible for the country and she couldn't wait until he was elected out and the Republicans could get rid of it all.

She then went on to tell me about her appalling healthcare costs and that she only gets 2 weeks salary if let go by the company.

I then explained how the NHS system works and how with service, I would be "ok" if made got made voluntarily redundant... but that she did not view us as socialist...

That's because she's a hardline republican who view anyone out as work as spongers on bennies.

Yes, but what I couldn't translate was the belief that we weren't a socialist country, but we have these things - in fact she views us as republican + a monarchy if that makes sense. She couldn't grasp the middle ground, but that is a core issue with US politics - it's too polarised.

We live/used to live in a very GOP county, Hernando in FL, in a GOP state. We thought it so funny when they blamed Obama for everything despite, GOP county/state/Majority feds.....

I wouldn't vote for anyone that doesn't look human anymore. Shows he has no self-control.

Baton Rouge, LA – Louisiana Governor and GOP presidential candidate, Piyush “Bobby” Jindal, 44, spoke with Phil Hemmer via satellite on Fox News’ Happening Now this morning to discuss the ever-growing Confederate flag controversy. However, it wasn’t Jindal’s opinion on what states should do about the flag that had people talking afterwords.

While discussing the historic South Carolina Senate vote to have the flag removed from statehouse grounds, Jindal told Hemmer, “Like the same-sex marriage issue, I believe this should be decided on by the states, not the courts. Let the people’s voices be heard. Like many others who hail from the great Creole state, the Confederate flag is a symbol of my heritage, and that heritage has nothing to do with racism or hate.”

Jindal was born in Baton Rouge. He's as American as anyone else.

I stand corrected - I thought he moved to the US as a youngster.
