JUst watched the DP.
As ever, that former Sky guy is absolutely brilliant and spot on, just gives the logic.

Someone suggested Mark Cuban this morning. Or Geraldo Rivera to balance the ticket? biggrin
I was only half joking about Condoleezza Rice... obviously Trump couldn't be a misogynistic racist then. Job done!
Condi is too smart!

Susana Martinez is probably the favourite if he we went in that direction. As I said yesterday Nicky Haley would have been a good choice but there's probably too much bad blood between them after the SOTU response.

To get the full effect. Watch the video again, but play Elgar's Enigma Variations in the background.

What a horrible creature she is.

Paul Ryan, the most senior republican in congress, just said he cannot support Trump. At the same time both past GOP presidents said they will not endorse him.

Unprecedented.

Apparently Paul Ryan will run a shadow campaign talking about the issues that matter to republicans because Trump "can't be trusted to articulate them coherently" . So they'll be Trump ads running calling HRC a witch / proclaiming that everything will be great and declaring that Trump has a huge bank account / penis / skyscraper and they'll be GOP ads running talking about fiscal policy / abortion / banning gay marriage etc.. The hope is that the brain dead who actually like the candidate will see his ads and go vote and the right wing whack jobs who form the base of the party will see the pro life, anti gay stuff and err... go vote. That way they think they can bolster the down ticket.

Both the past two GOP presidents have discovered that their diaries are suddenly full in July and have said they won't be attending the convention as have the past 2 GOP nominees. The only past nominee in attendance will be Bob Dole who's so senile these days he won't have a clue where he is or what's going on.

Meanwhile The Donald has said today that there is a "40%" chance that he will pick a former rival as his running mate. Given that Cruz, Bush, Graham, Paul, Fiorina and Walker wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire, Carson and Huckabee are completely bonkers (not necessarily a barrier to the appointment) and Santorum, Perry and Jindal are just plain unelectable that leaves Christie, Rubio and Kasich. The "little Marco" stuff would just make things too easy for the democrats surely? So Kasich or Christie? The 60% looks a better bet. Perhaps Bobby Knight? laugh Someone suggested Mark Cuban this morning. Or Geraldo Rivera to balance the ticket? biggrin
For some one with so much opinion yet so few accurate projections, I'm tending to go with 100% the opposite of what you state. smile

With Trump, he's gone soo over to the left to get this far in the race to become the Conservative candidate, he's isolated himself amoungst pretty much everyone else, even with an awful rival like Hilary as his rival, he won't stand a chance when it comes to the elections.
people said similar when he started race for republican nomination...

So, the polling gap between Clinton and Trump has nearly halved since a little over a month ago.

It's astonishing that, 2 days after Trump wrapped up the GOP nomination, Paul Ryan is having to deny again that he will not run. rofl

Agreed, (we're not allowed to say +1 anymore).

Now this has been mentioned before. Trump is not the cause here, it's the stat of America politition and policy that had gained his approval - that is why he is popular. People over there are sick to their back teeth of career politicians.

As he says, the European elites don't see the same figure that a steel worker from Flint, Michigan sees.

They don'tmake steel in Flint, it is the birthplace of G.M. and they make pickup trucks.

Chris Christie has been sucking-up to Trump for months now. No doubt, he's angling for the VP nomination.

So. Whether or not you like the idea....

...who reckons Trump has got this one?

I mean - the Democrat nominee is Hillary Clinton. Yes, that's right, Hillary Clinton. Really? I'd love to hear from proper voting Americans what she's got going for her with enough ordinary folk to actually get elected.

To be honest the result doesn't bother me one bit - A President has to deal with Congress and the Senate and they aren't anywhere near as polarised as presidential candidates are, much like our Parliament and House of Lords temper anything our Prime Minister might want to do.

Non-voting American here. I think (and have thought all along) that there is a very good chance Trump will win. As said many times, for quite a few Americans, looking at Trump is like looking in a mirror. Hopefully the final phase of destruction is commencing; I'd much rather that than sit through a slower death via Hillary.

What will you do if the destruction commences?

Indeed. As Obama has found to his cost.....

Sort of negates all the nonsense of aligning a specific candidate with a specific view on the EU debate.

Perhaps he's like Samson, if it's cut off he'll become polite and courteous and suddenly unelectable. hehe
