So other than his name, which may or may not indicate that he might be a Muslim, no-one knows the motivation for this attack do they?

I still don't see what this has got to do with the US Presidential election.
Nor me. Quite bizarre!

Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump has narrowed as Republicans have rallied behind the New York businessman in the weeks since he became his party’s presumptive nominee for the presidency. Mrs. Clinton now leads Mr. Trump by just 3 percentage points, 46% to 43%, in a test matchup between the two likely nominees, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows. Other polls suggest an even tighter race.

Sketchy. Shame it's on youtube. Any real news outlets cover this?

That's appalling. Worse than a polytechnic students' union.

It's not. The Sanders campaign misunderstood the rules and didn't have the correct number of delegates in Nevada. Their petulant supporters then rioted, respected Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer was called a c*** etc.. V poor form. The Sanders campaign are not calling foul on it, non story.

The polls are all over the place as one would expect given that Sanders is still running. Once he's gone things will change. Trump will be beaten, maybe not quite as badly as Goldwater was but I think he may lose Georgia, Indiana and maybe even Mississippi.

Did anyone see HBO's "All the way" movie this weekend? It was the story of LBJ and the civil right act and the '64 election. Bryan Cranston played LBJ and was brilliant. Amazing how many parallels there are to today. Black people denied the vote in southern states, a racist demagogue running on the republican ticket etc...

Are black people still denied the right to vote in southern states?

Google 'voter ID laws' in relation to South Carolina or Texas (I've picked those two, but there are others) and read up on the subject.

I don't mind Bernie so much, I agree with some of the things he has to say, he probably wouldn't even make a bad president. Corbyn on the other hand is a dribbling fvckwit who should be stacking shelves at tesco.
God forbid that should have a job like that working for capitalism!

Cleaning latrines in poor parts of a third world country would be more in line with his calling, at least he could make a contribution to mankind.

Confused with this West London event that occurred yesterday.

"A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of four women in a supermarket car park in London.

Ethem Aydin Orhon, 66, was charged with four counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon. He appeared at Wimbledon magistrates court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to appear at Kingston crown court on 17 June.

The women, aged 53, 62, 67 and 71, are in a stable condition in hospital. They were attacked in the Sainsbury’s car park in the suburb of Hampton, south-west London, on Friday, just after 10.30am. Some of the women were attacked as they got out of their cars".

Turkish name, the surname is likely to be mis-spelt' it should be Orhan (I presume).

So under the Un-Democratic party and a Billary presidency, the USA could apply to join the EU. Both are corrupt, oppressive, dishonest. A match made in heaven.

Interesting, thank you. So all registered voters have a right to vote but in 18 states (approx 9 North, 9 South) they must show a photo ID first?

The implication is that this will disadvantage the black community?

I thought the voter ID laws were intended to counter the widespread voter rigging that was going on in certain states? I honestly never understood why having to prove that you were who you claimed to be (in other words that you were eligible to vote) got so many peoples grundees in a twist.
Of course it is portrayed as an example of racist disenfranchisement by those it affects - that would be the voters themselves AND those who benefited from the industrial scale rigging that went on in some places.
I suppose the "facts" fit both sides argument, so it all comes down to who you want to believe. That being said, vote rigging should be considered as utterly reprehensible from whatever side of the political spectrum one observes it.

Pretty much, yes, in that black/Latino/other ethnic groups tend to be at the poorer end of the community, find it harder to have the right ID, and predominantly identify with the Dems. Keep these people out of the voter pool and you can swing the vote in some counties.

American politics is fascinatingly grubby, though note that we've seen boundary manipulation in the UK, so perhaps stone-throwing should be kept to a minimum.

Find it harder to have the right ID my arse. People who drive have a drivers license, A non driver ID is typically less than 3 bucks per year.
People squawked cos they hadn't bothered to register, people squawked cos they had abused the system, and the Dems came over all righteous and defensive because they knew that it was harder to rig the vote if IDs had to be produced.
