Just seen the Twitter battle between Bush snr and Trump on Maher's show....fking hilarious!
Is there a link to this?Politifact's running truthometer comparing Clinton and Trump.

I must admit that as much as part of me would love the chaos of Leicester, Trump, Corbyn and Rosberg all winning within a year of each other, there's just no way someone who spouts so much total bullst as Trump should be rewarded with popular success in any kind of just world.
I've had a chance to watch the debate in full now, IMO Hillary came off as smug and typically political (though not as bad as the average UK MP), her fans will see this as confidence and will like it. Trump came across as slightly aggressive and over bearing and not a politician, his fans will like that. So I'd call it a draw.
Hillary does struggle to say "everyone should respect the law" (1hr 39 mins on that youtube link posted earlier) and has a mini seizure when Trump points out that she doesn't like the words "law and order" at 1hr41min. If you've ever had any training in interview observation techniques (or hypnosis like Scott Adams) you can see that these words have a deep emotional connection for Hillary.

Scott Adams blog has gotten a little tiresome for me, I still read it from time to time, but he comes across as a bit too much, 'the lady doth protest too much' when it comes to his appreciation of Trump.
I started this contest liking Trump, and to some extent, still do, while also very much feeling that to have Clinton as a candidate is internecine to democracy. But now as it comes close to the hour, I feel for better social connectivity, Hilary would be the better leader (even with it's connotations to creating vile political dynasty). If Trump wins though, my tickets to the US for next year should be really good deals.

The only person in the US I've ever heard mention Adams is Rush Limbaugh which tells you all you need to know IMO.I started this contest liking Trump, and to some extent, still do, while also very much feeling that to have Clinton as a candidate is internecine to democracy. I'm shocked that you "like" Trump. Personally I've always found him to be utterly odious, the worst sort of silver spooned narcissistic braggart. And that was before he started on the anti Muslim, anti immigrant, overtly racist agenda he's been on for the past year. The reason that his candidacy was laughed at and not taken seriously by everyone when it started is that he is a kind of metaphor, a national joke. He just stopped being funny, that's all.

Well, relationships are complex, I don't like all the traits of all of my friends, but my closer friends have more traits that I can admire, it's all on a sliding scale and so it goes as you slide the scale up and down closer to and further away. I hold views on things that some people may think is paradoxical. I like Trump for some things, but there is now building on the other side too much that I dislike him for and cannot be ignored.I'm shocked that you "like" Trump. I think the article I posted earlier about the reasons why Trump ran is probably on the nail.
Trump apparently told a rally today that he went easy on Clinton because he didn't want to embarrass her.
So (a) that's basically an admission that he lost the debate, and (b) it's coupled with the sort of excuse a ten year offers when they lose. Maybe he picked that one up from his ten year old son who is apparently so amazingly good with computers (no Donald, it's not that he's so amazingly good, it's that you're so amazingly bad anything looks good to you).
Puzzled that anyone would vote for him. I can understand the hate for Clinton, but with this as the alternative, just don't vote.

Sure. I admired Tony Benn and Alan Clark. Same with Norman Tebbit and Dennis Skinner. Polar opposites. We recently had a 2 term republican mayor that I admired and respected far more than the democrat he replaced. But Donald Trump? I. Can't see a single redeeming feature.I think the article I posted earlier about the reasons why Trump ran is probably on the nail.

Well I think he did call it for Trump early in the primaries. If Trump ends up winning the thing he will probably be looked on as some sort of genius. If Hillary wins by a landslide he will look like an idiot.
I think some of his ideas, that it is all down to "persuasion" rather than "policies" is actually quite interesting.

He's been on that particular agenda ever since he started leading the Birther Brigade.I'm shocked that you "like" Trump. Basically he's a narcisisst - he craves adulation and approval. The Birther stuff kept him in the headlines and won him the approval of Rednecks who didnt like Obama because he's black, and the "Closet Rednecks" (didn't like Obama because he's black but weren't brave enough to say so). You could guess who they were because they'd never condemn the Birther movement.
