"President Trump" has a nice ring to it.

I look forward to all the wailing and gnashing of teeth when he wins.

I ca just imagine what people will say.

"The American people believed his lies".

"Some people voted for because they thought he couldn't win - they really wanted Clinton".

"They only voted for Trump because they thought that he would increase spending on Healthcare".

"They only voted for him because they are racist".

.. and so on.

What an excellent year!
I fear that you will be sadly disappointed, but it's OK since you can blame

MSM lies
Lefties
Traitorous Republicans
PC gone mad
Women who don't know what's good for them
The BBC (probably)

and so forth

hehe
I won't be too bothered if Trump doesn't win.

After all, we have Brexit and we have Theresa may as PM.

Two out of three ain't bad.

I don't get why people are comparing this to the Brexit Vote, it is totally different.

With Brexit, there were good and valid reasons for voting either way and most people (perhaps not the rabid posters on PH) could understand the other side's point of view

But Trump.....................I don't get it, the main reasons seem to be that he is 'Clinton' or not 'Government'

As someone asked before what exactly makes people here think that Trump will make a good President?

I am in the same boat. If he deosnt win he doesnt win and we are all totally and utterly screwed to put it bluntly. North Korea are Nuclear weaponing up, Russia can pulverise pretty much any country in the world with Nukes for which there is no defence shield to shoot them down (American defence chiefs have admitted as much regarding the Sr 28.

The ONLY person either of those countries have any time for or positive to say is in support of Trump. The main reason for that is Trump hasnt been running around mouthing off about how those countries should be running their affairs and threatening to bomb the sht out of them every other day,

Neither of them like respect or trust Clinton.

I would rather have a relatively sensible if slightly stupid Trump in office who can sit and have a conversation with them than Clinton who will simply piss them off and start a big fk off war.

I love visiting America - I do it for work on a reasonably regular basis, seven trips to Houston in the last two years, one of those included a few days in NYC with the boss lady, she flew over and I got an internal flight to the city after I had finished up at work.

I've always had a great time and the people are very friendly for the most part (the food is frankly amazing too, I swear I must have gained about 4lbs on my last visit hehe) but, in Texas certainly, I get the feeling that the relationship between the man on the street and the Government is uneasy at best - it's hard to put a finger on quite why that is, but it's there, a malingering feeling. Mebbe I'm just mental!

The place I visit has a big R&D workshop for the oil and gas industry and most of the lads are Republicans as you'd expect, they don't like Obama, they don't like the Democrats and they looooooooooove their guns, but even a few of those won't be voting for the Hair - they wouldn't ever vote for Hillary, they're just going to stay at home.
The agression I am referring to is not just between the govt. and people, but among people as well. To be fair, it is what happens after 200 years of hustling and related propaganda. "fk you, I got mine" is the operative menality of the majority of Americans. The pockets of sanity are few and far between.
Yeah we have that here in the UK too - me, me, me, very prevalent, sadly.

Do people on here understand exactly what using nuclear weapons means - there is a very good reason why there has only ever been two nuclear bombs used in conflict.

They are the weapons of last resort, and if you use them, you know that you are destroying your own country as well - Russia is not going to bomb the US

Do you remember Ronald Reagan?

He came across as a bumbling idiot. However, he turned out to be one of the best presidents that the US ever had. He brought the Cold War to an end.

Trump reminds me of Reagan.

Also, if you look at both candidates voting records, you will see that Trump is far less likely to start wars. Clinton has a record of supporting foreign interventions, while Trump has a record of opposing them.

I think that the world would be a safer place with Trump in charge.

Plus - he winds up ...

The Cold War ended because communism failed and the USSR collapsed, it didn't have much to do with Reagan. Bush was actually the president when the Cold War ended. Aside from that Reagan makes Trump look like Einstein.

Good luck with that's. There is no talk of a Trump victory in the USA anymore. There is little talk of whether the republicans can hold the senate. The talk is of whether the down ballot carnage will cost them the house, something that was unthinkable a few weeks ago. The talk is not of whether he can win a purple state or two. The talk is of how heavy his defeat will be and whether he can hold on to Georgia, Arizona, Utah, Kansas, Indiana, Missouri, Mississippi, states that democrats can only dream of winning in a normal year. The talk is whether the Republican Party even survives this disaster. The talk is of whether Trump can even get through tonight without melting down completely.

It's over for Trump who will go back to a business in crisis, debt laden with a brand so toxic that it may not survive. Personally I hope he goes spectacularly bust as people such as Mark Cuban are predicting and that he lives out his days in humiliation and ridicule as he is a despicable excuse for a human being.

Trying to compare his boasts about how he loves to assault women with Clinton's husband's behaviour with consenting partners is pathetic.
Easy labelling, no reasoning, same old.

The idea is not, of course, to compare two offences. You and others focus on that by deliberate mistake because it deflects attention away from the key point.

It's all about attitudes towards women, judgement around that attitude, and whether an exploitative attitude bars somebody from high office (Potus) clearly it doesn't.
More nonsense. You are the one deliberately avoiding the point and deflecting. It's weak, transparent, and intellectually dishonest as it can be. But hell, if you want to continue to dilute further your integrity and credibility, knock yourself out. If you really can't see the difference between the attitude to women as a group exhibited by a consensual extra-marital affair and the attitude to women as a group exhibited by Trump, I'm staggered.

BTW, the personal attack and near instant denial that that's what you'd done was worthy of Trump himself. No wonder you see things through his eyes so easily.
Another post full of personal angle waffle = waste of time...lost the argument or lost the plot, no matter.

As the saying goes, the nearer to the target, the thicker the flak.

Thanks for the personal attention, it's always appreciated but boring in the context of the thread as a whole.

Reagan was a 2 term governor of California and nothing like Trump. He also wasn't that great a president and didn't end the cold wat but that's another story.

Trump doesn't have a voting record you blithering idiot.

I couldn't understand why people wanted to be shackled to Brussels, totally beyond my comprehension.
As for Trump,I'm utterly sick of the same old politicians decade after decade, its time for a change. I quite like that he says it as it is and doesn't care, far too many sensitive petals out there and here who are offended at anything and everytything and their only retorts seem involve the words racist, bigot and xenophobe.Bloody hell, its boring.

I'll look it up after dinner.

I always understood that "Voting Record" related to how a Senator or Congressman votes on the various acts, bills, issues etc put before the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Since Trump has never held any sort of political office, anywhere, ever - he can't have a "voting record" of that type.
