It's going to be a republican President isn't it, I mean the US aren't going to vote a woman (especially her) or a communist into office are they?
If she's the nominee she will win and I think she will be. If it's Bernie I really don't know although he would beat Trump or Cruz. I really though Rubio would carry momentum out of Iowa but apparently not.

Yeah vs Trump or Cruz I think his message and general human-beingness would win over, I think against Rubio his age would be used against him like it was McCain.

Is there a specific reason why congress seems to favour the Republicans? Is it a rebound thing where there's a backlash against the party of the Prez, or are the constituencies weighted in such a way as to favour Repubs?

Rubio's youth has been a hinderance recently. His slick Cameron/Blair manner not coming across too well and part of the factor at what switches people off.

In an election where everyone is voting for the non-politicians, being a "by the book" politician is not a good thing

According to Ch4 News Jeb Bush has already spent $150 million on his campaign - that must work out at $1000s per vote so far.

And to think the Tories are in trouble over here for over-spending by £50k during a by-election.

It's a completely different world over the pond and it can't be good for democracy.

$150millon spent and he's got close to zero chance of getting the nomination surely? Was he hoping the "name" would carry him home?

Surely W has ruined that for him!

At least that disgusting lump Christie is now finished.
He's meeting with aides right now, expect an announcement soon.

I really can't get over just how much of a massive tool Donald Trump really is.

Hopefully the bullet would have ricocheted and hit him right in the balls.

The weapon Trump always carries with him wouldn't be much use.

The GOP field is winnowing, with Christie and Fiorina out we're almost down to serious contenders. Why is Carson still in? Beggars belief really. Kasich did well in NH and he's the only one of these morons that I would vote for but he has no cash and no ground game going forward. I can't see him getting past Nevada. That will leave Spunktrumpet, Jeb, Rubio and Cruz. Jeb will be on the brink then too if he doesn't show a solid 3rd in both.

The Dem race is going to start getting nasty now. The irony is that, just like Trump isn't really a republican, Bernie isn't a democrat. You can expect to be told that ad nauseum over the next few weeks. He's desperately trying to get some African American support (met Sharpton yesterday) but Hillary is very strong there. She should win SC and NV and that could stem some of his fundraising. Expect fireworks though.

His campaign message sounds very Trump, I wonder if he'd support him?

Not a chance. He believes in experience, will probably endorse Bush or nobody at all.

Cost of election spending for each candidate, including those no longer in the running from Scott Walker down.
