Why do trumpeteers think that really disliking him and liking Clinton is one and the same?

As South PArk so eloquently puts it, you've got the choice of a giant douche and a turd sandwich. Picking the lesser of to evils is not the same as supporting / liking / defending Clinton.
I've never said that. I will write in Nader (though I am considering Stein).

That quote is also almost exactly what I have said several times in this thread, only I used st sandwich. wink

Snopes, a cat woman and her husband in an apartment, a brilliant unbiased source.

I guess you did'nt get the memo.
The whole point of the cat woman stereotype is that she doesn't have a husband. You'd know that if you interacted with real people, instead of hiding away, ready to shoot them if they come too close to your tinned food.

This demonstrates you know as much about history as you do with politics.

This is usually the case with libtards.

Which bit of history? Sorry, is your flag flying upside down? Or are you more of a luncheon meat type of a guy? Actually you probably prefer black pudding, being as how you're a Lancastrian. laugh

My wife is from Texas, and whilst she spent her life between 21 and 30 in cosmopolitan Dallas we still go to south Texas and spend time about 90 miles from the Mexican boarder where she grew up. It's genuinely bewildering and unless you see it it's hard to get your head around, and then even harder to get your head around it when you do see it. Absolutely nothing would surprise me if I was told it happened in Texas.

As for the election itself I think America is in an awful predicament. Hillary Clinton is beyond vile, she's awful and if they'd managed to get just a half decent opponent they would have washed her away. I'd personally still vote Trump, not because I think he's special, but because I think he has the inability to get anything done, and 4 years of doing nothing in America I feel are better than Clinton who knows the ropes.

I love their maths, where somehow a poll showing 26% in favour of something increases to 40% with no citation..

The only advantages Trump has are that he is an unknown quantity, and he could potentially do some good in ending our perpetual wars and working to reverse some of the damage done via NAFTA. I also think he is pretty safe on social issues, but you never know.

That said, the former issues above are nearly impossible for a president to tackle in this day, I suspect, given the collusion of powerful interest groups influencing the system. Campaign finance changes did us in. No question we are circling the drain, but it is hard to say exactly when it's all going to blow up. I have no doubht Clinton will accellerate the process though.

That lady genuinely scares the bejeezers out of me, something just doesn't sit right with her, and that's before you think of the decades of corruption associated to her.

And yet that's exactly what we get on this side of the pond from so-called left-liberals, as they like to tell everyone to do as they say not as they do, with all sorts of p-c lifestyle coercion going on as well. It'd be more accurate to use the term illiberals. A similar situation may exist stateside.

HRClinton: 'we'll take things from you for the common good' (words close enough): well no thanks, you don't know best how to spend other people's money, a bit of liberal live and let live / earn and let spend would be much more...liberal.

5OhmMancboy, what exactly is wrong with being liberal?

You keep using this word libtard, to try and put down people with liberal views, but why?

What's wrong with being open minded, accepting of other people's views, live and let live?

Is that not the particular brand of freedom you like? Do you like the sort of freedom where everyone has to comply with your point of view?

Because that's not really freedom you know...

For info, according to Wiki the old Liberal party in the UK gave up on Classical Liberalism at the beginning of the 20th century when the Labour party emerged. They because something called 'Social Liberals' which seems to be something along the lines of Socialism Light, or Socialism with a mostly market economy. Obviously in 1988 they joined with the SDP (Labour splinter group) to form the Lib Dems, which re-enforces their apparent Socialist sympathies.

Apparently when 'Social Liberalism' took hold of the Liberal party, as you would expect the hard line Classical Liberals felt betrayed, as if the new types of Liberals were sell-outs.

It seems to me that at any one time in a country there can only be one dominant ideology, and at the beginning of the 20th century Socialism took over from Classical Liberalism. Conservatism isn't an ideology, just a brake on the dominant ideology of the time which is why so many 'hard line conservatives' are, and will always be disappointed with the UK Conservative party.
