I saw the dad and step mum on the TV.
I'm not criticising at all, but just cannot fathom how they can or have managed to stay together. I mean, just imagine it, having your teen daughter killed by partners son?
It's a very tragic situation but at one point he said "if this doesn't split us up, nothing will."

Errrr yes, I think you may be right there. Difficult to imagine a situation where he says "You've put too much sugar in my tea, so that's it, I'm off. Your son killed my daughter, and I let that go, but now this. It's the final straw!"

If they do stay together, I will be amazed. How can any relationship take that kind of strain. He wants her son dead, so he said. Will she want to visit him in prison, and if so, what will he say to that.
The underlying bitterness that must fester with the partner having brought this scumbag into the world...I just can't imagine it.
Dreadful.

A couple who helped the killers of the Bristol teenager Becky Watts by hiding her remains in their garden shed have both been given jail terms.

Karl Demetrius and Jaydene Parsons claimed they thought they were stashing drugs or stolen goods and had no idea that their neighbours, Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare, had killed 16-year-old Becky and needed a place to conceal her dismembered body

The numbers are staggering, but I do agree with the system in principle that everyone should have access to suitable legal representation.

Quite.

It illustrates the ridiculous costs involved, nothing more.

Why would she need a solicitor and an advocate?

A fair trial perhaps?

I saw her father's interview on news night last night. Unbelievably sad state of affairs. I believe his memoirs out soon.
