It's definitely not an Uzi (of any description) it looks more like a Steyr TMP, although it is a bit hard to tell due to its camo paint job.

It's an SR-2, mainly used by the various Russian internal security services:

Sorry, but this all smells a bit.

They are saying there was no cctv on a the time, yet they managed to find these chaps just days after it happened.

Ok, they could have traced the vehicles movements from other cctv in the city, but so soon?

And the photo of the guy being led out of the door by the Russian swat guy. OK, we don't know where this was taken, but the inference is that it is the killer (or associate) being led away from the scene of the raid. If YOU were doing a raid on somebody's lair who you knew had just committed an assassination with a firearm - wouldn't you have a bloody helmet on, and some body armour. And would you have a conveniently placed photographer just outside the door to capture the moment the fugitive is lead away by the ear?

And why has Zaur Dadayev coughed so easily about his involvement? And more importantly - what the hell is the motive?

Sorry, but going on Russia's recent announcements, I don't believe a word of it.

Or 15 rounds a second

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrp? (in as much time as it takes to say it!) Excellent.

Interesting to see its not a gas blow back system.

Best way to clear a room with an Uzi? Set it to auto and throw it in the room. I'll go off as soon as it hits the floor and will spray the room with about as much accuracy as if there was a dude holding it.
This submachine gun was so successful, that it had been adopted by more than 90 countries worldwide either for military use or law enforcement forces.
Downside of the Uzi is it's limited range and accuracy, especially in full-auto mode.

Variants:

Uzi carbine, fitted with a longer barrel. It has been aimed mainly at civil customers;

Mini Uzi, a compact model developed in 1982. It is fitted with a shorter barrel and a side-folded frame stock. This submachine gun is also compatible with smaller 20 round capacity magazines. It's range of effective fire is about 100 meters;

Micro Uzi, even more compact model, developed in 1983. It has a side-folded frame stock, similar to that of the Mini Uzi. It uses smaller 20 round magazines as standard. Range of effective fire is about 30 meters;

Uzi PRO a recent and redesigned version, intended primarily for Israel's special operations forces. This submachine gun was introduced in 2003. It evolved from the Micro Uzi, after the IMI engineers have gathered complaints, impressions and reports from the Micro Uzi users. This weapon has a reduced weight, as it uses polymers and lightweight titanium alloys. This submachine gun is fed from the Glock 17-round and 33-round magazines.

Uzi pistol. Basically it is a scaled-down Micro Uzi without shoulder stock. It fires in semi-automatic mode only and has been aimed mainly at civilian market.
