Did they just say on the radio news that in the police interview she said was 'well up for it' or very similar.
What's the point of telling the world that?
It's very difficult to legislate for human emotion.
I am starting to feel a modicum of sympathy for him. He's been a dick, but she clearly wasn't a child in this.
He was (is) Champions League Stooopid, and she's got involved to impress her friends and show them how grown-up she is.

Then once she starts gobbing-off to her mates it's all got badly out of control.

His idea that simply asking her to delete all the messages was all the safety-measures he needed was wishful thinking of record-breaking proportions.

e was grooming the girl and texting his partner about their child in the same minute. It's unfair to conclude she's 'money grabbing' etc just because he's wealthy. Life's a little more complex than that, especially when a child is involved.

These were apparently the text messages sent within the same minute.

This is getting a bit like Moral Grandstanding... Oh it's from the Daily Mail, carry on...

Are the facts in dispute, Fred?

Lol, are people actually standing up for him? Even if we remove the fact she was being suggestive, he still cheated on the mother of his child. Bell end in my opinion.

Agreed. As a young, wealthy footballer he would have been beating off attractive women with a stty stick any time he walked in a club and yet he actively pursued a girl he knew to be under age for sex. Very grim.

No sympathy at all.

Had he have been doing this, he wouldn't have got into all this trouble, what a total wand!

Presumably not, I just find the hypocrisy a bit rank, especially from the Mail on Line, who've probably done more than most to promote the overt sexualisation of teen culture and mindless celebrity worship.

But the idea that criminals go about their normal private lives in parallel with their criminal activities is hardly a huge surprise, the faux outrage that he would be texting his missus and victim at the same time has absolutely no bearing on the crime, it's just silly moral judgment, the only person who should be surprised or outraged is his missus.

Would you prefer a Telegraph link? The Guardian perhaps? Which way do you lean?

The Mail is garbage, but it presented the texts in a clear way with that image and worked best to correct the statement that she got pregnant after he was charged and challenge the support that gave the suggestion she was 'money grabbing' etc.

It doesn't need to be 'faux outrage' (there are degrees) to criticise someone for grooming a 15 year old whilst texting his girlfriend who (presumably) proudly is sending him pictures of their new born. Morals, ethics and laws are entwined. Yes, it's not relevant to the crime but they are ancillary facts which are always going to be discussed when talking about a specific case.

In life, such planks find that trouble finds them sooner or later. Just saying, maybe.

Maybe it has already been asked, but why is his missus still standing next to him while all this is going on? He's admitted to one charge already...

Classles, money grabber comes to mind.
iirc she got pregnant *after* he'd been charged....
No. She was pregnant when he was dallying with the 15 year old. Well documented during this trial that within 13 seconds of sending his pregnant mrs a lovey dovey baby related text he was then sending another to this bint telling her he couldn't wait to get her jeans off.

Classy.
I wonder if he was spinning his missus a line on the fact that it was only a kiss etc, which could be possible as he admitted the grooming charge and the initial charge. Now sitting in the court room and hearing all the gruesome details and all the lies he has told I suspect she has packed her bags and left.

^This. You get married, you commit to it and you deal with what that involves. Once kids are involved it is responsibility squared. A lot of pain, aggro and legal costs could be avoided altogether if people had more responsibility.

This goes beyond just a fling though when you consider the age of the girl involved. Utterly ridiculous individual.

I don't see how anyone can have any sympathy for him, looking at those texts above.

Yeah sounds likely to me. I hope she does have the conviction to up sticks, unlike Mrs Rooney, Terry, Giggs etc etc

Without wishing to be pedantic, he's not married, not that it makes the slightest bit of difference to his culpability.

However, he hasn't committed in the marital sense, but he does seem to be quite happy to blown his jizz up wome WAG who then seems fine with being publicly humiliated whilst he gets jiggy with a 15yo schoolgirl. QV Ched Evans' missus and Colleen Rooney. The mind boggles at these women - have some bloody self-respect beyond your next Prada handbag.

Thing is, his wag girlfriend could well have spent her youth sucking off footballers too, so maybe she thought what he did was natural and normal. Many of the wag women have been passed around by multiple footballers before they 'settle down'. They move in those circles.

She must be as thick as pigst just like the other women that stayed with their rich footballer boyfriends and husbands.

And people that say they stay for e money. Rubbish, they can leave with the money if they choose too. They stay for the 'fame'.

Maybe he has sexual preference for the underaged?

Just a thought.

Many men do.
