It's my belief that the senior leadership of the police have, post-MacPherson, been wont to put 'community cohesion' at or near the top of their priorities - certainly higher than the investigation of complaints of abuse from teenage tearaways directed at BAME groups.
It's pretty clear that the same concerns lay behind the Met's tardy response to the trouble on the streets in 2011.
Still sounds like political inteference from without, I can't think why such policies would benefit the police directly. It's pretty clear that the same concerns lay behind the Met's tardy response to the trouble on the streets in 2011.
Several years later........
A police chief who had to apologise for her role in one of the worst child sex slavery scandals in British history is set to be appointed the government’s new anti-slavery head. Sara Thornton, head of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), will become Theresa May’s independent anti-slavery commissioner later this year. She will be charged with leading the fight against slavery and sex trafficking across the UK.

Common purpose female art graduate, she couldn't fit the role more if she wrapped herself in a diversity flag and covered herself in paint at Notting hill carnival.
This exactly. Completely coated in Teflon. If she had managed to oversee the shooting of the odd innocent man she could be in line to head the Met. richie99 said:
