Joking aside, a damn fine forced landing. A deadstick turnback is not an easy thing to accomplish.

Ah, I see, so it wouldn't be possible for it to stall on landing then? The skid marks aren't very long.

Looking at the news on this it would appear to me that Mr Ford would be well advised to keep well away from aircraft. It looks like his 3rd forced landing.

Heck he even seems to fall out with model aircraft after his leg break last year!!!

The very act of landing requires an aerodynamic "stall" at the point of touchdown as to land, you need to stop flying.

The error in the report is that they are using the motoring description of "stall" as being related to an engine stopping (as in "my engine stalled"). In aviation the word "stall" is not used in that context. You will hear from Ford's emergency call that he uses the correct aviation terminology in that he declares an "engine failure".

Some of the initial media reports were absolute rubbish - one had the headline that he was critically injured then went on to say he walked away but with blood on his face. They obviously have a very different definition of the word 'critically' than everyone else frown

A film star with a broken fingernail may be considered "critical" in the press......

Landing a plane on a golf course is tricky enough but doing so without engine power is one hell of a handicap.
