This has just pinged my inbox:

'Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time.'
Thanks to our roving reporter TTwiggy, now over to BSR for the weather.

Just want this thread to beat the other one because I posted on this one first... So I'll say it again, Clarkson is a tool.

I bet Channel 4, ITV, Channel 5, Sky etc etc are melting their phones trying to get through to JC et al offering them prime time slot for 'Top Gear 2/Sixth Gear'. BBC shooting themselves in the foot if they can't manage JC to keep TG on air.

I like this BBC piece;

"At the time, he said the BBC had told him he would be sacked if he made "one more offensive remark, anywhere, at any time".

- so letting go a stray word someone, somewhere might find offensive would result in immediate dismissal, but Savile could grope and bugger his way across the decades at Television Centre without censure...

but a very rich, successful and popular tool. Also the biggest source of revenue for the BBC (licence fee aside)

Yep, money should clearly be the only criteria here, regardless of what Jezza has done

Couldn't agree more.

I really hope that TG moves away from the BBC to somewhere not so left leaning.

Jezza is leading beyond authority.

The problem with that is he's not been on any Common Purpose courses.

Maybe this is a made-up [either by the BBC or JC] tiff designed to allow Clarkson to escape Top Gear and join another channel .. maybe he's had enough (big ego according to a friend of mine) and wants out?

Stop watching this show a while ago.If Clarkson is out he can spout his mouth off whenever he likes to whom he likes. The short one of the show with his put on accent and the posh speaking geezer are allowed to disappear.

Some of the common purpose drones at the bbc must be perplexed why people like him and his show, and seething at his wealth. They don't like people having fun....

Really? I'm not sure in what way you think being on the BBC has ruined Top Gear, but I want an hour of TG, not 40 mins.

If it's Andy Wilman he has worked with Clarkson for years on loads of stuff, bit of an argument between old mates got of hand?
This. Odd.
I think the statement read "A producer" - Andy Willman is the executive producer.

Did not Clarkson sell the Top Gear "rights" back to the BBC a couple of years ago? I stopped watching Top Gear a year or so ago, mainly because thrashing the latest Ferrolamboghirninini around the same test track became tedious. As did star in a car, as did the sameoldsameold camera work. Ambushed into watching it a couple of weeks ago, it's still quite good.

Good luck to Klaxxxon in whatever he does, although he looks like someone in his late sixties so perhaps some health issues?
