That would make them something other than libertarians then, but feel free to carry on being wrong.McWigglebum4th said:
A question for those saying clarkson should not of been giving the boot
How much should i be earning before i can boot you firmly in the nuts and not be sacked?
If i earn double that can i kick you twice in the nuts?
If i earn half that am i allowed to give you a gentle slap?
Earnings needed to fart in your face?
Depends how much you are willing to pay me in compensation (which would have been a punishment that actually benefited the victim). How much should i be earning before i can boot you firmly in the nuts and not be sacked?

£10k and I will throw in a two for one offer on kicks to the nuts.

as it? They conducted an investigation and made a reasonable decision in extremely high-profile circumstances.
So what was Oisin Tymon hung out to dry, why was his name released at all? (as example) Fact is, all this could have been dealt with quietly and professionally, it has not been.
Rather than speculation and inaccurate information being drip-fed, why not manage it up front to negate that?
Hung him out to dry AKA supported him throughout and publicly stated he has a bright future at the BBC.

Given how the show is created and the control therein that Clarkson and Wilman have on it, can you elaborate on why this should be so?
I was only half joking to have a dig at ITV, who produce on the whole a load of tosh IMO.Edited by Stig on Friday 27th March 13:02
But having said that, would it have the budget it currently has?, remember this won't be 'Top Gear' it will be brand new show.

- new talent would be a lot cheaper.
And, I would suggest, rather less likely to pull in the big bucks. Speculation I know, but that would be my suspicion.Well, actually it was according to the following list of fan favourites published in Dr Who magazine #413 :
1. THE CAVES OF ANDROZANI (1984) starring PETER DAVISON
2. BLINK (2007) starring DAVID TENNANT
3. GENESIS OF THE DALEKS (1975) starring TOM BAKER
4. THE TALONS OF WENG-CHIANG (1977) starring TOM BAKER
5. THE EMPTY CHILD (2005) starring CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON
6. HUMAN NATURE (2007) starring DAVID TENNANT
7. PYRAMIDS OF MARS (1975) starring TOM BAKER
8. CITY OF DEATH (1979) starring TOM BAKER
9. THE ROBOTS OF DEATH (1977) starring TOM BAKER
10. BAD WOLF (2005) starring CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON
6 of the top ten are from the '70s and '80s. In fact if you consider that most fan lists like this tend to favour more recent episodes, then you could argue that there are some Original series classics which should displace some of the more modern stuff (i.e. WTF is Bad Wolf doing there?).
Anyway, as far as I'm aware Tom Baker never hit anyone on the production staff, so back to the ongoing saga...3...2...1...

Sounds like you got a new job patrolling the entry-exit gates to Downing Street.Beware of cyclists!
"He always pictured himself a libertarian, which to my way of thinking means ``I want the liberty to grow rich and you can have the liberty to starve''. It's easy to believe that no one should depend on society for help when you yourself happen not to need such help."
One of the odd things about Top Gear is that it hasn't spawned loads of other motoring programmes. The voice was sired by Britain's got talent and the X-factor, masterchef and bake off led to lots of other "so you think you can cook" programmes.
Why when a laddish motoring show is such a hit haven't we seen a load more?

??? It did - Fifth Gear and Driven (Drivel) and, to varying degrees and for various reasons they generally weren't as good and, in parts, were thoroughly st.Why when a laddish motoring show is such a hit haven't we seen a load more?

One thing Clarkson has is a wealth of experience of motors - he's been a motoring journalist and petrolhead for longer than much of his audience have been alive - but also his very unique wit and insight. Yes, he can be a bit much at times, but I really don't think anyone can deny his opinions and antics are entertaining to a great many people.

Whilst the wishes of a victim of an assault are generally taken into account when deciding to prosecute - this doesn't mean that a prosecution won't take place.
Really? Would the police proceed even it was against the express wishes of the alleged victim? How does that work then?Answered in your edit as I was posting.
Thanks for the info.

nlikely in these circumstances. They should just bin it if he doesn't want to make a complaint.
Given the profile I doubt the police would take reasponsibility for that decision. I expect to see a file passed to the CPS and for them to make the call.La Liga said:

What's the basis for the figure you claim? Is it a personal estimate or can you point us in the direction of the supporting data?
Its the figure being touted in the media, also by Ben Collins.Bedder 6 had revenues of £150 million in 2013 and that was only holding half the rights.... Sub zero events aren't included in that number and they make the money from the live shows.
Then you have the dvds sales which go to another arm of the bbc.
Add to that the advertising sold on Dave, which is half owned by the bbc and consists mostly of TG repeats. £100 million profit is, if anything, erring on the side of caution. It could be half as much again.
Cnn report it as £150 million revenue. The figures on quora suggest a production cost below £15m for two seasons a year, plus cost of live shows.
So, what figures are you using and where do they come from?
longblackcoat said:
Where on earth do you get your numbers from - thin air?
The TG profit isn't £100m, or even £50m, even including Dave/T-shirts/live shows etc. Closer to £25m per year net, and most of that from back catalogue, which will continue to be shown. Over the longer term that would obviously decline unless you make new shows, but they'd be made for a lower budget, because you'd not need to pay the four musketeers their total £12m per annum in fees - new talent would be a lot cheaper.
My last post details my figures. Yours are hopelessly out. 'm talking about a decision to discontinue now, pre-suspect interview. That wouldn't go near the CPS. If they did progress to a suspect interview then he's eligible for a caution / RJ and I imagine would accept the former.
out of curiosity if someone accepts a caution how does that affect their ability to travel abroad?irocfan said:

When all countries start to build up a national DNA database by stealth then there might be equivalence
