I expect the date he committed to it was possibly prior to the suspension - or he had an existing contract with the production company?

Wasnt their stance that they couldnt condone violence (presumably as an empployer)? By employing him elsewhere they have basically done nothing but kill top gear?
Is HIGNFY made by an independent company and sold to the BBC, or is it made directly by them?
Hat Trick, an independant company (who are also located opposite my office!)

Loved Wosses comments on his sat show when he asked Bear Grylls, had he been in the Australian bush......with Kylie sat beside him.....excellent.
you are of course assuming wink
I speculate that it's unlikely.
Does that mean Grylls is only likely to go out back and take the plunge with a smooth operator?

Yep he will slowly be introduced back on to the BBC and then in 12-18 months time be given another contract.

It will be a bit like Mandelson and Blunkett, caught out - fired/resign - reinstate - caught out - fired/resign - reinstate etc.....

They aren't employing him, Hat Trick productions are, he isn't banned from the BBC he just didn't have his BBC contract renewed.

A lot of the BBC's output isn't made by the BBC.

Sorry I've just seen the above has already been posted.

So all they'd have to do is set up TG Productions Inc and licence the name from the BBC. Job jobbed.

"Sue Perkins is favourite to replace Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear"

Is it still April 1

Or is Danny Cohen smoking a particularly powerful variety of skunk

It the style of Sir Humphrey, it would be a brave move.

But as much as I don't like her, she is a dozen times better than Dermot O'Leary.

Well at least the gay jokes will be kept to a minimum.

I'm sure the audience of 5,000 will love it

She does ok on that baking program, that seems to get viewers in.

Mel and Sue doing Top Gear would be brilliant

You kidding? The first new episode (if there is one) will be off the scale for viewing figures. Not that many will admit it, they will want to tune so they can pan it.

Thats the problem though, first episode, gets panned, all switch off. I would far rather they picked presenters that could carry the show off, I want Top Gear to succeed, I enjoy it. If Clarkson et all turn up on another show, great, we can then have two shows to watch and enjoy
