Keep your chuckle muscle under control for now at least.

Sue Perkins has denied she is in talks to replace Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear

Just Mel then wink

Well at least the gay jokes will be kept to a minimum.

I'm sure the audience of 5,000 will love it
Your being a tad generous with audience figures there me thinks.
You kidding? The first new episode (if there is one) will be off the scale for viewing figures. Not that many will admit it, they will want to tune so they can pan it.
Absolutely I would watch just to see how bad it was and confirm my fears.

I have no idea how those two get work. They are dull as fk and not funny. One of them was on a quiz show the other day I ha sto watch through my fingers because she was so bad.

Have to agree. There are some dull as ditchwater types which unsurprisingly, our pc-riddled media, particularly the so called British Broadcasting Corporation, insist that we have to see and appreciate. Their motive and agenda for so doing sets me channel hopping elsewhere on every occasion these "not must see" types are foisted upon our screens.

The TG Clarkson presentation style is done on broadcast TV I think.

No way could be slag cars or do politically incorrect things on an advertiser supported medium like commercial TV, so if he goes that way it will definitely be more PC.

If he goes to a Netflix-type streaming video direction with subscriber pay, then there is a chance of it continuing. YouTube is planning a pay channel shortly with no advertising.

I hate the idea of sue Perkins presenting topgear, but from the BBCs point of view it could work. Bake off gets more UK viewers than tg, so there is a degree of logic there. If they re jig the format and move it to BBC1 at the 8pm slot it will most likely attract more viewers domestically, initially at least. Whether that lasts or transfers to other markets is a different question, but the BBC will be able to claim the correct decision was made.

The Clarkson, Hammond and May Live tour is on !!! cool

Background to the event: previous to these events the team behind Clarkson, Hammond and May Live were running similar live shows which were titled Top Gear Live. However, further to an incident - which lead to the BBC not renewing Clarkson’s contract - an agreement was made between BBC Worldwide and Brand Events allowing the tour to continue under the new name but without BBC Top Gear branding or content

You'd better ring that commercial TV channel 'Dave' quick then - no one seems to have told them! biggrin

Yeah, the chance that he would have gotten reamed was decent, and maybe he felt he couldn't hack it in his current condition?

look at the ownership of Dave and look at the stuff they commission as new rather than raiding the UKTV vaults ...
