So May now leaves the show.

I smell another channel and a very similar show coming. Big mistake BBC.
source?
Trust me.
I think the pieces are slowly being lined up for a return. Fifty million in revenue buys a lot of forgiveness...
Does it really? I mean it is a fair amount but hardly a great deal in the overall scheme of things.

JC has not had his TG presenting contract renewed.
It leaves still quite a lot open.

FFS, are people really still seeing this as somehow the BBC's fault? rofl

You go into work tomorrow and punch a subordinate (if there are any relative to you), see how long your feet continue to touch the ground. Really really not a difficult concept to grasp.banghead

Today's announcement seems to confirm that they come as a complete package. Give it time...
that's a given and they have all said so in one way or another.

My thoughts have been that they would 'promote' May to lead duties and add two new presenters (probably one female). Hamster only really works in the role of stooge to Clarkson's 'funny man' and it would seem like a cleaner break with the past if they only retain one member of the former talent team.
There may be health reasons why Hamster has a lesser role (if he has).

Whether the BBC had another option it could have got away with is another question entirely, but equating this situation to ordinary people in ordinary jobs is naïve. The vast majority of people are easily replaced with little business impact. I doubt there are many people who can't understand why Top Gear is still off the air when there would have been someone else on their till the next day.

And how many times do people have to say that this could and should of been dealt with like grown ups and never seen the light of day! Do you think this never happens? REALLY? All over the country this is how it is done!

Not hard to grasp!

May has already said that he wants to continue working for the BBC (Toy Stories, People's car etc.) but that doesn't mean he will do Top Gear or other work elsewhere.

Please stop rolling out the human rights/PC/employer duty of care stuff. This is not your typical business workplace, this is show business. I'd risk more than a little bet this goes on all the time, as it does in sports, and we never hear about it.

300 pages on a crap show.

Have you got nothing better to do, like wash your car or even get in it and do something called driving

The Daily Mail is terrible and Tog Gear is for people who don't know anything about cars and yet I bet you are all sitting there on Sunday with that paper and that programme, a wife called Ethel and a nice cup of Bovriltine.

Rather than badgers they should do a cull of you middle england media studies degree half whits.

Only joking.
Be more productive to do a cull of miserable buggers with no sense of humour and an unhealthy approval of political correctness, who post and whinge about a programme they watch and don't like, but don't turn off because watching it is a bit like self flagellation and they bloody well love that...oh, yes.

Only joking.

Ahh didn't realise normal rules didn't apply to showbiz. Please help me, apart from assault what else is OK, racism? Sexism? sexual harassment?

How silly! Do music stars get the sack for taking drugs? Does a footballer get the sack for hitting another player? Does a comic get the sack for telling a racist joke?

Wake up!

I have had one of my business partners (who is arguably more senior than me) take a swing at me when pissed (I was making sure he got back safely to his hotel room after imbibing too many ales at a work function). I dodged it and he fell over. He then swung at another partner who was helping me (the pugilist is a big lad and he was none too steady on his feet). Strangely, after attempting fisticuffs, he then invited us up to his hotel room for some fun. We didn't take him up on that...
If he'd hit me, I am sure he wouldn't have been sacked, nor would I have asked for him to be sacked (but I would probably have hit him back harder).
We would have been sat in a room with the Senior Partner; told not to be such idiots; he would have had to apologise and ordered to behave in future; we'd have shaken hands and got on with our jobs.

I think a lot of us have had similar run ins with colleges hehe I know I have
the thing is how far do you take it and to what point , this Assistant has now caused an unbelievable st storm and I guess many people have lost an enjoyable interesting job but he has had his pound of flesh so I imagine him or whoever it was who escalated the incident is happy now ,it should never have landed in the public domain

And if he'd punched a middle manager? Or salesman? Arguably, as a partner, you are not a simple employee of the company and enjoy the benefits that come with such a position. In that case, it's going to be up to you how far you'd take an assault like this. Someone on PAYE might not feel so generous...
