I actually have quite a lot of sympathy for OT. Whoever it was from the Beeb (and it seems it may well be Danny Cohen) who released his name etc regarding the incident, should be nailed to a post. bd.
^This. Euqually, we have to remember Clarkson appealing to those abusing/accusing OT on social media to leave him alone because - and of this there's little doubt - it was not his fault.Digga said:

They will want to continue with the current format and keep it 'Ad Free'. New show on Netflix called '1st Gear' featuring the Stag. Netflix will make a fortune selling it to Dave and other channels all over the world, plus the DVD's and may even release all episodes in one go (notice how the BBC has started doing this on the iPlayer with Peter Kay's new show!).
Maybe the BBC have done them a favour! They can say whatever they want and manufactures will still want to work with them.

So who is laying bets then?
JC back at the Beeb next year or on some other channel?
I think that Andy Willman's comments today rule out a return to the BBC.JC back at the Beeb next year or on some other channel?

And, as if by magic we are back on page 3 of the thread...
Blaming the BBC for this - check
Blaming PC gone mad! - check
Blaming the assistant for not manning up - check
Billy-big-balls stories from other industries where this would end in a handshake - check

Yup, we just need a baseless claim from someone who likes to believe watching telly is akin to being in the BBC boardroom at every high level meeting, and that the lefty BBC have wanted Clarkson out since just before he was actually born, and that the whole thing is a conspiracy. Then we'll have the full set!

Clarkson has been so un-pc for years that he's been a thorn in the side of the beeb management eco-politic speak and this was just an excuse to dump him. sadly for the beeb politicos its turned into a media ststorm from which they have no escape other than to try to ridicule him as a dinosaur while trying to retain May and Hammond thus keeping the money stream which is Top Gear rolling in.
For myself, I've always enjoyed the laddish theme of TG but if it ceases then, never mind it was ok while it lasted.
Aaaaand there it is! For myself, I've always enjoyed the laddish theme of TG but if it ceases then, never mind it was ok while it lasted.
Love this thread, everyone is so earnest in their delusions!

You predict something that has already happened, and then you claim that this proves you right.
Brilliant!

Reading that, a cull of BBC executives is very much overdue. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3053899/Ex...

The days when people stayed in on a Saturday night to watch the BBC are all but forgotten.
At the very least, it should be cut back to BBC1,2 and Radios 1,2,3 and 4.
All the local radio stations, and all the minority interest stations should not be funded by the state.
The BBC appears to have become a vehicle for social engineering, rather than a high quality broadcaster.
