The article just smacks loudly of someone trying to write themselves a headline on an absurdly easy, if way-off, target. As for her suggestions:
Vicki Butler-Henderson - past her sell by now, I think
Suzi Perry - I have a massive soft spot for Ms Perry, but somehow she seems best suited to the pitlane and somehow doesn't seem to quite cut it presenting regular TV
Jodie Kidd - why? Just because she recently presented a car show? And if that's the sole basis for nominating her, then I'm sorry but she needs to be at the bottom of a list of about 10 million other candidates.

Was chatting to a CD today. Certain programmes get dropped because the demographic they are pulling might not be the right one, even with good figures in the 'wrong' demo. Had a chat about 'quota' filling.
Most depressing.
Theres a dark place in my head where I just know someone at the beeb probably has a vision for new new topgear that includes new SIARPC- where the guest has to drive round in a nissan leaf using the least amount of battery- it'll be "fun" but educational as they teach us about saving energy. Most depressing.
there'll be a challenge where they go to holland and race a cycle against an EV but it's just a front to blab about how good things are for cyclists there, and then they decide on the 1st class flight home as none of them made any carbon that they're all winners.

Sounds like 'lift and coast' and the Canadian Grand Prix.hairyben said:

Possibly...but TG caters to a certain demographic. Not many other things do on the Beeb. It may be that the Beeb try and keep TG as close to the current product as much as possible....or it may go all swivel-eyed-loonie lefty. there'll be a challenge where they go to holland and race a cycle against an EV but it's just a front to blab about how good things are for cyclists there, and then they decide on the 1st class flight home as none of them made any carbon that they're all winners.

Most depressing.
Hence Chris Moyles going from Radio 1. Even though the very annoying Grimshaw brought in less listeners the bosses were delighted as they were the 'right' listeners (12 - 20 I think?).Most depressing.

She was truly dire presenting the studio segments on the Classic Car Show. carinaman said:

Sounds like 'lift and coast' and the Canadian Grand Prix.We used to have a slow bicycle race at school. Hilarious. Didn't need good ole " Bent Billions Bernie " to fix it either.

part of the problem is that 'zoo ' radio is the same old format with new cardboard cut outs in each seat ... Wright is still doing the same on r2 in the afternoon has he has done forthe past ?30 years ...

it;'s somewhat unfortunate that DAB and internet / 'satellite' radio hasn't taken off in-car in the Uk - as the BBC now do seem to want a progression through 1x /1 - 6 - 2 as people get older ...
Looking at the costs of a station being on DAB you can see why - TeamRock will be leaving DAB at the end of the month as their business model, which doesn't use advertising, can't justify the £1M/year fee. That kind of entry barrier will guarantee lack of choice and a fight over the dull middle-ground where it's not state or god-sponsored.IainT said:
