The article just smacks loudly of someone trying to write themselves a headline on an absurdly easy, if way-off, target.

As for her suggestions:

Vicki Butler-Henderson - past her sell by now, I think
Suzi Perry - I have a massive soft spot for Ms Perry, but somehow she seems best suited to the pitlane and somehow doesn't seem to quite cut it presenting regular TV
Jodie Kidd - why? Just because she recently presented a car show? And if that's the sole basis for nominating her, then I'm sorry but she needs to be at the bottom of a list of about 10 million other candidates.

Most depressing.
Theres a dark place in my head where I just know someone at the beeb probably has a vision for new new topgear that includes new SIARPC- where the guest has to drive round in a nissan leaf using the least amount of battery- it'll be "fun" but educational as they teach us about saving energy.

there'll be a challenge where they go to holland and race a cycle against an EV but it's just a front to blab about how good things are for cyclists there, and then they decide on the 1st class flight home as none of them made any carbon that they're all winners.

Sounds like 'lift and coast' and the Canadian Grand Prix.

Possibly...but TG caters to a certain demographic. Not many other things do on the Beeb. It may be that the Beeb try and keep TG as close to the current product as much as possible....or it may go all swivel-eyed-loonie lefty.

Most depressing.
Hence Chris Moyles going from Radio 1. Even though the very annoying Grimshaw brought in less listeners the bosses were delighted as they were the 'right' listeners (12 - 20 I think?).

She was truly dire presenting the studio segments on the Classic Car Show.

F1. A slow race.
We used to have a slow bicycle race at school. Hilarious. Didn't need good ole " Bent Billions Bernie " to fix it either.

Evans and Clarkson will appear together on TFI Friday when it returns to Channel 4 for a one-off 20th anniversary special this Friday that will also feature Liam Gallagher and Roger Daltrey in a TFI “supergroup”.

this i think highlighted what was wrong with the BBC, the breakfast show brought in as many listerns as Radio 2 or there abouts I recall 9 million at one point. So Radio 1 was there permerier station and there premier show was breakfast. Now they dcided moyels was too old too out spoken did not play enough music...so drop him bring in a guy who I had never heard of an yeahh BBC is all yooth again. oh an don't mention they have lost 3 million listeners. Also I liked moyles would play a tune get half way through turn it off an say yeah that was pants etc a refuse to play it again...never happens now and hennce I moved within about 3 months away from Radio 1. but I am 36 so not what they want anyway.

it;'s somewhat unfortunate that DAB and internet / 'satellite' radio hasn't taken off in-car in the Uk - as the BBC now do seem to want a progression through 1x /1 - 6 - 2 as people get older ...

part of the problem is that 'zoo ' radio is the same old format with new cardboard cut outs in each seat ... Wright is still doing the same on r2 in the afternoon has he has done forthe past ?30 years ...

Looking at the costs of a station being on DAB you can see why - TeamRock will be leaving DAB at the end of the month as their business model, which doesn't use advertising, can't justify the £1M/year fee. That kind of entry barrier will guarantee lack of choice and a fight over the dull middle-ground where it's not state or god-sponsored.

add of course the fact that mobile internet radio is now a more appealing method of delivery ... and that's 'free' for the broadcaster to deliver
