Most of us Irish are not the whiney type.

£100k is bang out of order.
Make your mind up.....Have you been drinking?
Do you really think that a slap deserves £100K?
Oisin probably deserved £500.00. Does the, argueably, racial slur really deserve another £99,500?

If my boss slapped/punched my face, bust my nose/lip and called me a lazy, English, , would I realistically be able to claim over £100k?
Yep.Head Injuries
Minor injuries involving no or minimal brain damage up to £9,400. Injuries involving minor brain damage where a good recovery has been made but symptoms such as poor concentration and memory problems continue, up to £31,600
I've been in the workplace for 30+ years and I've known a couple of scuffles to break out, and in one place a full on punch up with an engineer decking his supervisor (who was deserved it for winding the bloke up so much). None have ended up with sackings, as to 100k compensation and a promotion....lol.
I think the guy was off work for ages as well. The poor lamb.

My experience is the polar opposite.I think the guy was off work for ages as well. The poor lamb.
I've known two blokes smack someone in work during the last 30 odd years, and both were sacked the same day.

But they weren't public figures involved in one of the worlds largest TV shows.

If ANYBODY slapped me in a work context, ESPECIALLY a superior, I would sue their ass off.
What would you sue them for Eric, you could report them to the police for assault, the employer could fire him for gross misconduct provided it was specified, what else is there? surely if it had got to a judgement any compensation this bloke would have been awarded would have been for damage to his reputation.I'd cheerfully take a bunch of fives in the face from JC for £100k.
Just in case he is reading and interested....
(NB: I still think no one deserves a clattering in the work place, no matter how much of a 'lefty' the warped perspective of PH deems them to be - not to the tune of £100 k though, not by a long shot)
