Why would that bother him. He has 100k+ burning a hole in his back pocket, a promotion, and a job for life at the BBC (can you ever see them getting rid of him).
and you think that's right?I agree, the BBC will find it almost impossible to let him go now, but finding him a productive role will be almost impossible.

Also I can't see why it would affect his future career. As many people hated Clarkson as liked him (or TG), and he wasn't the aggressor.
not sure how you can say that with any certainty.I would suggest most people would view his role leading up to this incident as relevant, maybe he's a really obnoxious annoying git?

I'm sure you'd like to believe he is an obnoxious git, because that fits with your 'made up' narrative over who was to blame. However in reality there is nothing to support this idea, other than it would suit your argument.

I don't know anyone, aside from diehard TG fanboys, who blames anyone other than Clarkson for what happened.

No-one has actually said he's not an obnoxious little git. And they certainly won't now. He'll stay, embraced and protected by Mother.I'm sure you'd like to believe he is an obnoxious git, because that fits with your 'made up' narrative over who was to blame. Even Clarkson says the diehard TG fanboys are speaking utter rubbishI'm sure you'd like to believe he is an obnoxious git, because that fits with your 'made up' narrative over who was to blame. However in reality there is nothing to support this idea, other than it would suit your argument.

I would like to say sorry, once again, to Oisin Tymon for the incident and its regrettable aftermath
I want to reiterate that none of this was in any way his fault.
I would also like to make it clear that the abuse he has suffered since the incident is unwarranted and I am sorry too that he has had to go through that.
All this stuff about him being out of a job (he's been back working since May), being unemployable (see above) and not being able to do a productive role (currently a development executive) is just plain made up nonsense.I want to reiterate that none of this was in any way his fault.

If he WAS such an "obnoxious annoying git" I doubt whether JC would have been so openly apologetic.I would suggest most people would view his role leading up to this incident as relevant, maybe he's a really obnoxious annoying git?

your looking down the barrel of a potentially very costly legal battle, you can avoid this by saying sorry.
what do you think happens next?
Your solicitor mumbles "my client apologises".your looking down the barrel of a potentially very costly legal battle, you can avoid this by saying sorry.

JC's apology seemed wholeheartedly genuine and echoed statements he's made in the past.
I'm genuinely not sure why you and others seem so reluctant to believe that JC accepts what he did was wrong.

I'm with you on this. He does seem to be very contrite on the issue. Good for him although his naysayers will claim otherwise they know...you know;)JC's apology seemed wholeheartedly genuine and echoed statements he's made in the past.

Thing is I can understand compensation for the physical side of it, but where does all this racial bks come from? Irish is not a different race, he's still white.
See section 9 Equality Act 2010 -"9 Race
(1) Race includes—
(a) colour;
(b) nationality;
(c) ethnic or national origins."
The statute uses the word "race" as an umbrella term that embraces nationality.
