You are beneath contempt, you ARE a Rangers fan, so you cannot claim not to know that sectarianism is a subject that your club has battled with strenuously in modern times, doing its best to rid itself of fkwits that ruin the club's good name. You are a first class denier of an unpalatable truth. Moreover, you have now nailed your colours to the mast and cannot play the I'm not a bigot game anymore.
Look viperprick

I hate football

I would dearly love to see all football fans melted down for glue

And you fish counting simpleton like all footie fans it is beyond you understanding to realise that people don't give a fk about your glorious game

Actually i have reconsidered

The idea that football fans being thrown in jail for singing songs fills me with joy

If they knew the lyrics if La Marseillaise, everyone singing it would havd to be arrested!
Just to help out here are the lyrics in English, nowhere does it discriminate about those of a different religion in order to persecute. For avoidance of doubt I'm a protestant by birth, these days I'm an atheist - who no longer believes in any form of imaginary friend in the sky......

La Marseillaise - English lyrics

Arise children of the fatherland
The day of glory has arrived
Against us tyranny's
Bloody standard is raised
Listen to the sound in the fields
The howling of these fearsome soldiers
They are coming into our midst
To cut the throats of your sons and consorts

To arms citizens Form your battalions
March, march
Let impure blood
Water our furrows

What do they want this horde of slaves
Of traitors and conspiratorial kings?
For whom these vile chains
These long-prepared irons?
Frenchmen, for us, ah! What outrage
What methods must be taken?
It is us they dare plan
To return to the old slavery!

What! These foreign cohorts!
They would make laws in our courts!
What! These mercenary phalanxes
Would cut down our warrior sons
Good Lord! By chained hands
Our brow would yield under the yoke
The vile despots would have themselves be
The masters of destiny

Tremble, tyrants and traitors
The shame of all good men
Tremble! Your parricidal schemes
Will receive their just reward
Against you we are all soldiers
If they fall, our young heros
France will bear new ones
Ready to join the fight against you

Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors
Bear or hold back your blows
Spare these sad victims
That they regret taking up arms against us
But not these bloody despots
These accomplices of Bouillé
All these tigers who pitilessly
Ripped out their mothers' wombs

We too shall enlist
When our elders' time has come
To add to the list of deeds
Inscribed upon their tombs
We are much less jealous of surviving them
Than of sharing their coffins
We shall have the sublime pride
Of avenging or joining them

Drive on sacred patriotism
Support our avenging arms
Liberty, cherished liberty
Join the struggle with your defenders
Under our flags, let victory
Hurry to your manly tone
So that in death your enemies
See your triumph and our glory!

How is sending him to prison for singing a song anything other than limiting his free speech?

tell me where the Billy Boys mentions religion (hint: fenian doesn't mean catholic)

some nowadays seem to think Republicanism and Catholicism are one and the same, but it was never the case in the old days

No, the limits are set by the lawmakers of this land. I just happen to agree, in this instance, with the outcome.

Either you support freedom of speech or you do not, if you support freedom of speech then that has to include things that you disagree with or find distasteful, freedom of speech is not there for us to discuss the weather.

There are limits to everything.
I will always defend freedom, but not the freedom to rape small animals.

How do you decide which things I am allowed to say and not allowed to say? What is the criteria?

We've already established that Fenian, although not specifically a derogatory term for catholics, is used by sectarian bigots as a derogatory term for catholics. To deny this, is either a massive misunderstanding on your part, or vile, apologist behaviour - which is it in your case?

I think all traces were removed, last time I called you out about it - whilst I got a ban for being accused of making sectarian comments. My comments I made at the time were nothing of the sort, yet I got banned. As I said at the time I will always reserve the right to ridicule sectarian bigots, as they have no place in a modern Scotland.

“I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it”

Something has gone very very wrong somewhere. Why can't people decide for themselves if somebody says something offensive? If it is offensive, well that is life i am afraid. It is only words, you can't agree with every opinion of every person but they have that right to say what they want, or they used to. People are not stupid. What does censorship achieve?

It is quite evident (to normal people) that some words, in certain contexts, in certain environments are likely to have certain undesirable effects that we have to limit.
Quite obvious really........

Exactly. I wouldn't do that as i am aware it is offensive. But if someone else wanted to do it then i would just think what an idiot doing such a stupid thing. I don't see the need to stop anyone doing it if they wanted but they can deal with the consequences of their own actions.

What does trying to censor it achieve??

The exact opposite, that is what it achieves.

When are the left who seem to have so much control in this country going to grasp it?
