Fecking hell, just had a Facebook message from my Mum, -she visited that museum yesterday.

Staying close to the hotel from now on unsurprisingly.
Personally I would be on a plane out of there. Really glad she is ok though.
I wouldn't have entertained the thought of going there myself. Still, she says the food is better than on her recent Ukrainian coach holiday.

22 now dead, RIP frown lack of response on here says it all though this simply doesn't come as a suprise to many. The bbc have updated their webpage and it seems terrorist attacks have slowly been on the up in Tunisia and that a large number of IS fighters come from there and they are said to be some of the most extreme fighters

Sell her on a cruise ship next. Icebergs are the only threat.

Attackers now identified as Muslim extremists. Was there ever really any doubt?

I think it's probably more because northern Africa 'feels' an order of magnitude further away than most southern Europe. If this had happened in Sicily or southern Spain there would be many more posts.

Edit: And you're right, hearing about bad goings on in Africa doesn't surprise anyone.

You'd have to be certifiable to head on holiday to North Africa these days. Hope it turns out ok for the remainder caught up in it.
"North africa" is a big old place. I'd probably still go to Sharm in Egypt or most of Morocco but obviously not Libya or Algeria.

My GF just said that the british woman killed was the wife of a senior partner at the solicitors she works at. They were on a cruise holiday and stopped off for the day to visit the town.

Just goes to show you should take anything in life for granted as it can happen anywhere.

Did a bit a reading.

Seems this branch of Shia are called Houthi, who also bomb Sunni mosques whilst chanting 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel'.

Go figure confused

Catholic/Protestant. Jew/Arab. Sunni/Shia.

Todays lesson is that religion sucks the big one.

That they are spreading and widening there attacks, first Tunisia and now Yemen. Yemen is of interest due to the current unrest going on there.

IS and now Boko Haram are an even bigger threat now they have joined forces

Tunisia is a massive problem waiting to happen. Biggest contributor in men to ISIS. Also one of the biggest foreign contingents in the anti Assad groups. One day all these battle hardened young men will come home!
