Sat in a waiting room this morning I was told so and so was running behind schedule (what's new?). So I picked up yesterday's Daily Express - now I tend to get chance to read a variety of dailies but rarely look at the Express because of the front page weather horror that is imminent!

However, Nigel was on the front, so got to be worth a look

Now, like the Wail, it's solid Tory.

I was a bit gobsmacked... Piece by Nigel was usual commonsense stuff, but it then pointed at the end of the article to Express Comment see page so and so. I expected the usual denigration of Nige.

But no...
The Leader comment in the Express extolling the virtues of UKIP and the electorate? Was I feeling ok? ...Doctor!!!!

Anyway it was a surprise.

I've just had a look online to see if it's there from yesterday. It is. Have a read. Express and UKIP, what a refreshing change, or are they realising, like many of us, this GE is far from certain regarding the numbers that will be voting Kipper.

http://www.express.co.uk/comment/expresscomment/57...
The Express and Breitbart have been exclusively pro UKIP for quite some time now.
Chrise, well I never! cool Think I'll start buying it.

Is it the case that during the 'short campaign' the money you spend is tightly controlled? I know there's a limit per seat, £35k IIRC? Are you allowed to spend anything you're donated during the period of the short campaign?

If that's the case, so far... http://order-order.com/2015/04/16/labour-lead-in-s...

* Green Party – £8,400
* Labour Party – £1,887,312
* Liberal Democrats – £20,000
* United Kingdom Independence Party – £35,416
However there may be £1M coming UKIP's way... http://order-order.com/2015/04/16/rumour-dirty-des...

Been looking at voting from oz.

Facebook page is a bunch of UKIP supporters living overseas slagging off immigration.

Are they really that fking slow that they can't recognise the cognitive dissonance of their position?

Nigel's appearance in the debate tonight (BBC1 8PM) is rather important though - he has to do better than last time to pull undecided voters across.
If he doesn't impress tonight against that lot. He's simply not worthy.

He needs to embrace the spirit he has when he speaks in the EU.

I have no idea why the regional SNP and Plaid are on. Total irrelevance for the majority.

Debates are only any good when there's only 2 people, or 2 sides at least. Then there's a chance of a clear winner and a clear loser.

I agree, but they've all been going on so much about everyone being involved

yes, to a point, but as most of the audience can't vote for two of the participants, you have to question the point in them being there?

Well the figures suggest that the SNP will be the third largest party in Westminister after the election, so surely they should be represented?

Whichever way you cut it, they represent at best, less than ~6% of the UK population.

Where would you like the cut off point?

National parties only.

And if i was being strict, only parties officially recognised as major national parties.

There is a chance they'll be helping to govern at a national level and make up a part of the UK government (sadly) very soon, how much more national would you like?
