I agree the polls are volatile, hence the question mark. It is Ashcroft's analysis that is Farage's nightmare. Whether it is true we will see in just over a week's time

However I think it is touching the faith people have in bookies odds

They do just reflect how much money people put on each option, not any in-depth analysis

Though if you think they are the best guide you may care to note that the best odds on the Tories are 6/4 and UKIP evens. Which suggests the Tories are ahead in South Thanet

Personally I think that is irrelevant though
That suggests Farage has a greater chance of winning, 1/1 is evens and 6/4 is above evens - greater return for a greater risk.

What is the kipper consensus on the best scenario we can hope for in this up coming election? I'm. It talking ukip seats as such, more who, or what combo would suit the country, and ukip leading the country for the next term.
Conservatives undoubtedly less useless than Labour, but a Labour led government would assist UKIP more in 2020. The outside chance of a grand Con/Lab coalition would probably do the most to help UKIP in 2020.

for me just one seat is a 100% improvement ,the share of the vote is more important. 15% plus required to give them something to build on for 2020 imo.

And who would you like to see running the country for the next 5 years?

Indeed, I don't bet so had to look it up but to get the % from odds, divide the denominator by the total of the denominator and numerator...

So Farage: 1/2 = 50%
Conservatives: 4/10 = 40%

I think if they can get 3-5 seats with about 20% of the vote share it'll help them massively.

Its pretty obvious it's going to be a hung parliament this year. I'm just hoping Labour votes + SNP votes won't be enough to form a government. Maybe they'll try and woo over the lib dems as well, although that won't take much wooing.

All told I don't think ukip will have enough clout to swing the balance but if they were to get enough of the vote share (as I said 20%) it'll sure wake up the other parties.

As has been said before, 2020 is their time in my opinion.

Has Farage really got nothing better to do that run whining to the police whenever someone mentions his name during a satirical show?

personally farage ,but as that is unlikely to happen i will just hunker down for the long game. the political classes appear to be getting further removed from the reality of every day uk life .this needs to change. at the moment ukip are the only viable means to that change . i accept that may be perception as opposed to what would happen in reality, but i am willing to give them a go once the party evolves to a state where it is capable of governance.

maybe if it was ITV but the BBC seems hell bent on disrupting the UKIP campaign.

Somehow I doubt he's actually pursuing the issue personally.

It's not "whining". It's only "whining" when the lefties do it. This is just another clear example of the Socialist Republic of the Beebistan manipulating the gullible electorate.

Pfftt. Time was when this sort of thing would be settled by a punch up followed by a manly handshake. It's political correctness gone mad

My point was that it looks like violence is been used to control what people say , not just directly but indirectly due to fear, for me that is just totally wrong in a democracy.
Except that nobody in this country is actually having their views silenced by fear, are they? This bloke made a threat and was dealt with.

There are many countries in the world where people on all areas of the political spectrum are too afraid to speak out. This country is not one of them.
Wrong.

I struggle to understand the mentality of someone who thinks that it is acceptable to issue death threats on the basis of political beliefs.

Would it be acceptable to issue death threats on the basis of skin colour? Or sexuality?

Surely, all death threats are wrong, and should be condemned?
Some death threats are more real than others. I've been 'threatened with death' a few times in my life. Only one was serious as far as I was concerned. The rest were just tts mouthing off in the way tts are inclined to do. Move on, as they say round here smile

Obviously all death threats are wrong and should be condemned. I'm surprised that, if he took them so seriously, he doesn't seem to have reported them to the Police?

And the supposed reason for the death threats....
