I grew up thinking the world was at last putting all this intolerance behind it. And this comment goes both ways. I think it's unfortunate that some (many?) people on here, you included, are unable to debate and discuss with posters of opposing views. Instead you and others resort to insults from your moral high horse.

Do you not realise that it is exactly this attitude from the political "elite" that allows UKIP to flourish, Trump to become president, the far right to gain popularity? When people are ignored, sneered at and called racist for daring to question the immigration policy of the UK over the past 20 years, is it any wonder their political views move right?

If you have a genuine interest in politics (and as you post here, I assume you do) you need to get out of your echo chamber and start listening to what people of alternative views are saying, understand those views and debate them with opinion and fact.

Or you could just call anyone you disagree with a bigot. But that really does say more about you than anyone else.
