there's my problem with the religion. It doesn't FIT with the world we live in.
The sooner we live in a world with no religion the better.

It's a fking nonsense.

Compulsory vaginal examinations for girls returning from holiday is a sure fire vote winner.

To all parents and carers

Dear All

I write to you today to inform you of the upcoming compulsory thatch checking examinations that will take place. This is to counter the effects of FGM and is a compulsory requirement for all girls. Initially the thatch check will be given to girls of ethnic origin. Please make sure that your daughter attends the examination with her thatch carefully cultivated to help speed up the examination.
I know that some of you are worried that the thatch check will go against your religious beliefs and believe me we would sooner not be looking in your daughters briefs but its compulsory. The check will be undertaken by one of two female staff members. This is in accordance with the sex discrimination act. Please note that all thatch checking complies with religious policy and will be undertaken by a lady wearing a full face veil. Admittedly she will have to wear her glasses over her veil but as you know Mrs Hussain is nearly blind. Please do not shine any torches in her eyes as the magnification may blind her. Similarly we ask that any piercings your daughter may have in that region be removed for the same reasons. If any of you are concerned that the thatch check may in fact be done by Mr Humber the caretaker in a burkha we can if necessary ask that the religious clothing be removed so you can see its not. This will need to be discussed and will take a period of a few days to organise as he I mean she gets clearance from the Inman, her husband the thatch checking regulatory authority and the NUT
We look forward to your co-operation in this matter

I don't know if you think that's funny. Personally I don't.

Quality drafting by UKIP there.

If we have a cold winter, we either have to stay in, or get cold? No more wrapping up warm like this?

Most schools in Essex would be closed as their agreed syllabus commits to teaching about Islam, so is also likely to discuss differences between mainstream and fundamentalist Islam.
http://www.cdbe.org.uk/pdfs/RE%20AGREED%20SYLLABUS... - the agreed Essex syllabus for RE states children should learn about ALL the major religions of the UK (including Islam), but that over half the content should be about Christianity.

Requires medical professionals to breach their patient's confidentiality? Do they really expect a GP to report every case they see of FGM, even if it occurred 30 years ago and quite possibly in another country?

So when these pupils ( http://thebluecoatschool.com/residentials/ ) come back from their year 6 trip to France, they have to undergo an inspection?

It mentions that the Commons Home Affairs Committee were investigating this? Did that report ever happen?

Thanks - so the committee's view after investigation was that routine checks aren't the appropriate solution, but targeted checks of at risk individuals are.

Has Abbott reiterated her support for checks on all since the committee published the report? If not, then perhaps being part of that changed her view?

I'm sure techiedave can consult his AbbottArchive for her views...

From what I've seen of their manifesto and announcements so far they've realised the Brexit ship has sailed so have decided to go for the "Vote for us if you don't like Muslims" vote.

They'll do quite well based off the views of some of the folks on here.

I don't think so. Whilst NP&E has more than its fair share of vile bigots my view is that the majority of people in the UK are fairly decent and they'll see the "Integration Agenda" for what it really is.

Brexit was the only point of UKIP, the clue is in the name. For a brief period I hoped it might form a sane right of centre alternative; sadly I was mistaken. Needs to continue to exist until we are actually out of the EU, but... well making yourself unelectably racist is probably not a good manoeuvre.

Believe it or not, around half of my peers at work are women. Their views are largely aligned with mine.
I'm interested to know what you do for employment. But you don't have to answer. More because I'm wondering if your Muslim customers (It's unclear how you know them to be Muslim specifically) are biting their tongue. My parents are retired. The family that live next door are Bangladeshi. As a rule keep themselves to themselves.

The husband is often seen in the long robes (I don't know the name) The wife is RARELY seen. The husband is maybe 15 years younger than my parents, but they are what you would call old skool Muslims. And he's polite to my mum when he needs to interact with her (e.g. collecting parcels delivered when they were out), but he prefers to speak to my Dad. It's a cultural attitude towards women that's simply not acceptable and to get back to the earlier point. It's why I cannot respect the religion. Especially since it's being taught in modified to the next generation and so on. When in fact the younger generation should be helping to bring it into the 21st Century. And I don't just mean getting drunk. The neighbours son has already been married off to a girl he seemingly never met before, certainly wasn't seen before the big show wedding (with of course multiple rented supercars making st load of noise laugh ) And rather bizarrely hasn't been seen since the wedding either! confused

Anyhow.

I heard this today.
