I must have missed some of this, there seems to be an awful lot of fuss over a slight loon saying something not very funny but also not threatening on the internet.

People assaulting him or throwing fish at him will just be taken as signals that his approach is working and will therefore sadly embolden him to continue his dire contribution to public discourse.

I agree to an extent.

At some point, and goodness knows how you define this, I think people are simply taking the piss.

My personal view is Benjamin is long past that point.

If he wants to run on a free speech ticket and thinks he's being clever with his rapey comments so be it, but he shouldn't be surprised when his actions have consequences.

He already does that he has almost a million subscribers a video he uploaded just 2 days ago as over 300k views with 30k likes and only a few hundred dislikes. His entire career as been built on talking to the public.
This is why they don't want him to speak because he isn't the far right evil person they try to make out he is and given the chance to debate them lots of people will realize this. So instead they themselves turn into the fascists they imagine and pretend to fight against but are too stupid to see it.
