I always come out somewhere near Plaid.

UKIP are getting my vote.

I think there might be a magnet interfering with my political compass...

I really struggle to see how UKIP end up as more authoritarian than both Labour and the Tories; looks like bolleaux to me.

And in what universe are the Greens more libertarian than, well, anybody?

The fact that I've come slightly to the left of Labour, although libertarian, is something of a surprise as well!

And the SNP

The party that throws people in jail for singing songs is libertarian?

This old nonsense

Once they have a chart that places the parties far more accurately on the graph I might start taking them more seriously.

None of the major parties seriously challenge the post war social democratic consensus.

According to the site, the Greens are closest to Old Labour.

Indeed this. It's complete nonsense.

In what world are UKIP more authoritarian than any of the main parties?
In what world are the SNP less authoritarian than the three main parties?
And the greens libertarian? Only if you do as they say.
In what world are Labour right leaning? Yes they're different from old Labour, but still firmly on the left.

The questions relate to a number of key issues in (particularly) American politics. They sample a small subset of attitudes. Politics has moved on. As a result, the results can be anomalous.

The Greens are pretty groovy about who you sleep with or what recreational substances you take - but crushingly authoritarian on other personal choices which are not included in the questionnaire.
